You guys are picking 11th and will like it.

If Vancouver wins tonight we drop down to 6th. Increasing our lotto odds slowly but surely.

Winning is bad for the tank I know but I'm a loser watching a meaningless game devils caucus and it's hard watching rooting do a loss. I like seeing blackwood do well, and I wouldn't mind Carrick agostino rooney inn a depth role next year

Yeah, I can't believe Carrick was the throw-in in the Lovejoy trade. He's looked very promising so far. Agreed too on Agostino and Rooney, both looking to be good depth players.

Just hoping we can use some of the draft picks we acquired to get some real scoring because we're sorely lacking.

The lottery will determine our fate, and hopefully we end up with a Petterson 4-7 pick, but if nothing else at least we identified our goalie for the future. Cory will make for a pretty good backup, overpaid yes but still a great backup. If we can hit on this draft (1-3 pick) and our defensive prospects progress, we’re not in as bad a shape as people make it out to be. I’m all for Byram if we get 4-7 but 1-2 would be so effin sweet. Also I hate Oil90 as well haha

Having a split tandem to not put a lot of pressure on Blackwood to perform will be great for his development.

Just as pissed as everyone that we somehow won buttttt I’d be even more pissed if I was the Avs and I didn’t get first pick and the devs swooped in again. Lucky number 5 let’s goooooooo.

Side note: knowing what you know now would you have taken Nico or Petterson?? I’m a huge Nico fan, we lucked out on him but Petterson is awfully fun to watch. Not so much Nolan Patrick ( F U Flyers)

From the looks it seems that people think Hughes has a higher ceiling but Kakko is the more NHL ready player, which is the Avs get the first over all pick makes sense for them to want to take him instead.

Van certainly hit gold with Petterson, but I am not disappointed in Nico. He can skate for days, and is a responsible 200' player, developing his offense every night. I could really see him becoming a Bergeron-esque player. The kind of guy you want on the ice whether you are up or down a goal. They sure didn't end up with a Zacha.

Agreed. 6.7M for that tandem is good. And somewhat shelterd and hidden, could allow for a contract much like Vas signed when he was splitting duties with Bishop. Worked excelled for Tampa.

Now we just need to address that LD deficiency. Sev/Vats/Carrick are a solid RD lineup, Butcher and Greene/Yak are lacking. Ty Smith should be able to jump into the 2LD slot, but is Butcher ready for a #1? I would be fine with adding some support such as Gardiner. I know he hasn't been the most defensive guy, but he has missed just 15 games over the past 5 seasons, and consistently drives offense. I think an overpayment of about 6.5M over one or two seasons would be a low risk move to bring some much needed athleticism on that left side. There really aren't many UFA options on that side this offseason and I would like to keep our picks.

Such a sad blog talking about hoping for more losing to get a higher pick. Maybe if u had a larson type dman you wouldnt lose as much. Like kakko or hughes would help mickey mouse's team.

maybe if you thought of more original asinine statements you'd get a better reaction from us. I've seen a lot of trolls but you're creativity is pathetic. keep trying.

Brodeur held that team together like stiches on a cut for far to many years. Now they think hall is the answer but cant even realize their team and defence has been falling apart ever since the larson trade. Halls gets paid and takes 30 game vacations while larson blocks shots and throws guys into the boards with lethal hits. Time to rethink who actually won the trade ladies and...well ladies.

Shero has done a good job exploiting other teams through trades to get key pieces. Hopefully there is a move that can help us on defense. But at this point we're multiple pieces of way on offense and defense so it makes it difficult to address what's the greatest need.

Brodeur was a stitch and the rest of the team was a cut?

What about #3, #4, #27, #26, #9? If you are talking about the late years well what do you expect when a team has been good for so long and never really got high draft picks.

Lou could have started the rebuild sooner but he wanted to try and squeeze out as much wins as possible.

As for Hall, remember when EVERY player gets injured and still gets paid ?

I know you are trolling but a part of me thinks you actually believe some of the stuff you say.
