Who is fighting for their NHL lives on this roster and why do they deserve to be in the nhl? Varone, Knight, Bailey. We roles the dice on these players and they all might be worse than the combination of Bellemare and Vandevelde because they offer nothing to special teams. Raffl doesn’t deserve anything more than his current 2.5 million. Our bottom six has been bad for three or four season now. So you move on from it regardless.

The players you mention are definitely fighting to stay in the NHL or AHL for that matter. Nobody is saying they will be with the Flyers. They're just hoping to keep a job in hockey, so there's no way in the world they will tank so the Flyers get a better draft pick. These players are thinking of themselves, not the future of the Flyers organization.

If Raffl will take the league minimum he can come back as a 4th liner, otherwise bye. The other players you mentioned are AHLers that work hard but don’t have NHL calibre skill, modern day Peter White.
