The Leafs are 6-3-1 the last ten games. What exactly is it that they need to turn around?
- shack67

They should be 11-0 lol

The Calgary win stands out. I think the other wins came over non-playoff clubs.

It’s a long season with ebbs and flows. Personally I think the Bruins peaked too soon. The Leafs should be healthy and hitting their stride in April.

Another depth d man would have been a good addition, and I think with the injury situation it would have been good. A bunch of teams picked up depth d, Rutherford likes to do that.

But you dont know if it was enough or not yet. Until the playoffs start. My guess is Dubas figured borgman, Rosen, gards and dermott would be injured.

Tampa is losing to Detroit right now 2-0 in the 1st. The second goal was shorthanded.

Always good to have depth. And I don't think for one second Rosen is ready for playoff hockey, anymore than Marincin or Borgman. Considering late rounders was the ask and this was a big chance to go for it I feel it was a missed opportunity.

"We turned the puck over a little bit, we didn't play hard enough, we weren't quick enough in our zone, we didn't skate good enough or compete at a high enough level."

so... rinse, repeat?

So who is the guy who's so ready for the playoffs available at the deadline? Mcquaid has been a healthy scratch for the blue jackets.

Whatever Mcquaid is doing in Columbus has nothing to do with the Leafs.

And the Leafs already gave a 1st and 2 prospects for Muzz... would they have been willing to part with another 1st and solid prospect for Brandon ... man I don't know about that.

Which depth dman would you have preferred? None that were moved are anything that could have even remotely helped

Him sucking in clb and with rangers before that means that he would have been of no use to the Leafs.

Why? Based on what? He's been one of the best dmen is the ahl this year. What makes you think that he couldn't play? He played for the Marlies last year in the playoffs and performed well, much better than marincicn who is now a regular with the injuries

Thats the Gms job. I have no idea what was out there or what wasn't. All I know is contending teams make moves for depth. This isn't some huge crazy idea, it's actually very normal. Over the course of the last 30 odd games they are dropping in GA ranking. Would have liked to have seen something more. Muzzin was a good trade though.

Going into the playoffs it's always good to know what you have, rather than hopefully this or hopefully that.

Can't bring toughness if you can't crack the lineup. Toughness and grit from the press box.

Making a trade to just to make a trade doesn't sound like a good idea.

If the gm concluded that nothing available made sense, then it makes no sense.

Depends. There are good and bad decisions. Sometimes trades cause problems, sometimes they're good. I guess it depends on how good the GM is. I'm not going to assume there was nothing, I assume he thought it wasn't worth it though.

That is a cop out. Dont go saying "he didnt do enough" and "there was cheap depth dmen out there" and then say "I dont know what was available". You're talking out of two sides of your mouth in your statements.

Agreed on the Muzzin trade.
