if he stays up for 9+ games will that burn a year off his ELC?

I've never had a full understanding of that rule

He already burned that by playing in the AHL this season. That only applies to players going to leagues besides the AHL

I'm excited to see him in a Sens jersey and see how he does in the NHL. Especially because the team has no pressure on them right now.

However, I'm also a bit worried they will rush him into the NHL to soon

LOL no

What is an Entry Level Slide?
If a player who is signed to an entry-level contract and is 18 or 19 years of age (as of September 15 of the signing year), does not play in a minimum of 10 NHL games (including both regular season and playoffs; AHL games do not count), their contract is considered to ‘slide’, or extend, by one year. For example, if a player signed an ELC for three seasons from 2015-16 to 2017-2018, and their contract slides, their contract is now effective from 2016-17 to 2018-19. An exception to this rule is that if the player is 19 on September 15 of the first year of their contract, and turns 20 between September 16 and December 31, their contract does not slide.

Players who sign at 18 years old are eligible to have their contracted extended for 2 seasons. This extension does not apply if the player turns 20 between September 16 and December 31 in his signing year. Signing bonuses do not slide, and are paid to the player regardless of a slide, this causes the annual average of the players contract to change, and therefore the cap hit decreases for this player.

If he plays 10 NHL games his contract will not slide.

Hence why Formenton is with London.

Brannstrom looked a little shaky to start the game, but he's finding his legs out there. He's got a real nice outlet pass.

Veraneau also looks good, he has nice speed.

Small sample size, but not bad so far.

How will veraneau's contract be payed out, since he signed so late in the year?

The team may not have a tremendous amount of pressure right now, but the way Dorion was talking about Brunnstrom sounds like he unintentionally may have put the world on this kids shoulders.

He spoke so damn highly of him he better hope he can contribute. And fast.

I was impressed with both, outside of their first shift (which they were obviously nervous for) they seemed really poised and confident out there. they didn't seem to have any issues with the pace of the game, and in fact they both seemed to drive the pace when they were on the ice.

like you said, obviously a very small sample size, but promising.

Brannstrom looked sharp for me. He had an intensity about him that I feel will balance out Chabot's calm and a very different play style. Will be an awesome couple of power play units in a few years.

Loved Veronneau's speed and the amount of shots he got last night. Allen played solid but 1 or 2 of those shots would be goals on a majority of NHL net minders most nights.

I'm hoping they decide to extend Duclair.

Belleville had a big win too.

Paul had 2 goals 2 assists, Brannstrom 3 assists.

There's very little chance that they don't extend Duclair. He's been a rumoured target of Dorion for a long time, and should be a relatively inexpensive RFA signing. Duclair also currently has as many goals and points as either Duchene or Dzingel since the big Columbus trades. This isn't to say that 3G-3A in 11GP is setting the world on fire, but it wasn't exactly a given how Duclair would respond to the situation in Ottawa.
