Not saying Sparks is really the most ideal backup, but he did just have a .960 save percentage last night after Andersen was taken out. |

It all depends if Ek has posted his predictions at 7 or 8 Eastern time. |

I will not bring up philly because we all know that u are philly groupy and can’t honestly think they will be close to playoff team.
But do u honestly think sabres with go to overtime against pens tonight? I thought this take in consideration how team is playing and injuries. The Sabres haven’t scored a goal in 10 periods and will be without jack eichel again. Meanwhile the pens have won 5 of the last 6, all against playoff teams. |

It wasn’t even a full game and they were losing 4-0. It means less then nothing. You guys screwed yourselves this season. Terrible defense and no backup. And u had boatloads of cap to add free agents to stack lineup. Terrible gm and now u while have no cap space next year and still no defense. Good luck. |

They could of had Talbot. For basically cap relief. The main problem is defense. They could of had beaulieu from buffalo or del zotto. Both went for 6th rounder and would be depth dman that they desperately need. |

wouldn't you just save yourself the embarrassment and stop blogging? the site's a cash machine for him with or without continuing to make a complete fool out of himself.
at the very least i'd give up the big box on the front page to the writers i hired who understand hockey. maybe hide my ego-building blogs in a secret menu or something. |

Your model has the Jets finishing with 108 points. That’s a 12-1 finish. Your model is flawed. |

Just a devastating loss by the Oilers at home to NJ. If you took away the one 12 game stretch the Oilers had midseason where they couldn't get a point this team would be a playoff team
Never mind taking away the 12 game stretch. If they can't beat NJ's AHL team last night, at home, against a very depleted Devils lineup on the 2nd of back to back road games....then they are NOT a playoff team. |

32 right and 18 wrong sounds good. But then I went back and checked and if you just picked the team that is higher in the standings for every game, you would be 33-17.
In other words your 23 other super secret factors actually cost you a game.
As an analytics professional, I am sorry to say that your projections are driving me crazy. There is no way the results end up the way you are suggesting, but rather than realizing the flaws and changing your model, you are sticking to your guns and performing worse than just picking the team higher in the standings. |

The first paragraph is total truth. He's doing great, why should he stop?
The second paragraph is a good idea though, although a lot of people may actually come here simply to laugh at Ek's hot takes, just like a lot of people seem to come specifically to pick on Tanner. Hiding his main blogs might actually be detrimental. |

i'm sure that's the excuse he uses in his head, that he's getting traffic from people coming to trash him, but it would barely affect anything and his site may actually be taken seriously for once.
does he desperately want the site to be taken seriously or does he desperately want to fool people into thinking he knows anything (which is a ship that's sailed)?
also, i just got back from the store and shania was playing in there. |

It would be absurd to say the Leafs struggles are because of their backup goalie. |
