Rangers could realistically still finish with the 5th worst record in the league

(frank)ing Buffalo everybody was sucking their Richards early this year and now they are giving the rangers trouble in the tank race

pissing me off

Good news is we will have the tiebreaker over them and most teams since we can't win in regulation haha

this is true

I was looking at their last draft picks from the WHL and every one of them is a bust (we'll see about Ronning) it's crazy, maybe they are afraid

Gropp
Zborovskiy
Morrison
Iverson
Nejezchleb
St. Croix
McColgan
McIlrath
McNaught

all busts

Dale Weise in 2008 was their last WHL pick that actually became something

I put the hex on them some how. I said they were good this year. Since then they've gone 13-25-7.

Looking at the ex-Rangers moved at the deadline:

McQuaid: has not played every game, is scoreless and minus 5 in the 7 games he has appeared for Columbus

Zucc: injured during first game for Dallas

Hayes: 5 points in 8 games so far, has not played well as of late. Was recently demoted to 3rd line as Jets are trying to find good line combos

Not very good...

That might increase Hayes' chance of re-signing this summer.

I want Jets to miss out on division title and go out quickly

if that pick is like 23rd overall there is a decent chance we could move up, I think they'll be some wheelin and dealin with these picks

Just bet against Buffalo, Edmonton, and Colorado for all eternity until proven wrong. Pretty much has been an infallible strategy for a decade now.

I think it would be closer to 20. Several of the wild cards in other divisions have more points than them. Although it's unlikely, Dallas could still catch them as well. I don't think they lose the division though, they have 2 games in hand. They'd really have to crater for Nashville for realistically get them.

Still betting against them until proven otherwise. As an advanced stats guy goes, you should know OBJ doesn't do much in terms of expected wins. If Mayfield doesn't improve or regresses, they will still be a 6 win team.

I dont know why people are so easy to dismiss Dallas having a chance to win a couple of rounds

they've been playing real well and they still are getting Zuccarello before playoffs start

He had a WAR of 1.95 last year, one of his worst. Still good for the position and they went 7-8-1 last year.

Cause Bishop is hurt, again and they don't score. Getting them to score is like pulling teeth.

Yes, and it's only taken them about 4 decades to get there.
One year not that long ago I won 2 survivor pools simply by picking the team playing the Browns every week!

Yeah but how do the advanced stats project the loss of Hue Jackson? That's the real benefit for the Browns.

Zuccarello wont help?

I love the theory that the Rangers SHOULD HAVE gotten 14 first round picks for Zuccarello, he's that good, but the theory also exists that he wont help Dallas

Yes, they went 0-16 wo years ago. Then they went 7-8-1 last year. If you don't think they have improved they you aren't paying attention.

I never said I was disappointed in the return. They got the best deal possible. Same deal as Nyqvist and a better deal then for Marcus Johansson.

Jesus, you can be thick-headed.
Yes, I know they've improved. I don't live under a rock.
Does that fact wipe out the fact that they were the laughing stock of major sports for our entire lifetimes? Other people can have relevant points too, you know.
