None of those lines are suitable for heavy defensive minutes
Gotta have at least 1 line we can count on in that department

Erod and 4th line LW can kill Penalities. The 3rd line C we’d bring in would have to be good defensively and see PK time as well. Eichel has played PK sparingly as well and would have to shoulder some defensive zone starts and play against teams top lines. That is Jacks next step in his development, the defensive acumen and playing against other teams top competition. The 3rd line and Erod’s line would shoulder the rest of the defensive starts. Reinhart is one of our better defensive forwards tbh and even if Mitts continues to develop his two way game that line should not be a total liability defensively when they are on the ice either.

Apparently Phil was brought in to be a cuddly loving pal to the players. No more mean ol Disco Dan Bylsma saying hurtful things. This batch of players wouldn’t take well to even a single Joe Q practice, I’m guessing.

I sincerely hope that Jack can be swayed by an annual “But look at the high draft pick player we just got!” to keep him around. But he actually seems bothered by the constant losing.

Gotta wonder how many more seasons like this he can take before asking out of here.

Was looking good until the blues won 10 straight and the entire western conference folded like a piece of paper. A top 15 pick would have been a good score for ROR. Like I said though as long as the Stars keep doing well the Blues will finish in a wild card spot and we'll still get their pick. That trade for Montour would look a heck of a lot better as well if its the Sharks pick going to the Ducks in the deal.

Sheary doesn’t belong on a line getting heavy def zone use
Neither does Mitts or Eichel
Maybe they could at times, eventually
But we need them in heavy offensive situations now bc we don’t have balanced scoring throughout the lineup

U can’t compare our situation to Toronto who has 3 lines that can score with anyone
And 2 excellent 2way centers- JT & Kadri

Maybe one day we can build a lineup like that
But we aren’t anywhere close right now
