On the larger point of the blog, it is sometimes hard going on impossible for a TEAM to flip the switch. That is why some coaches burn out the team, by standing on them from day one to ensure they don't go into a slump. It is very possible for some players. Claude Giroux is a perfect example, as is Jake Voracek. Both are capable of coasting for shifts, periods and games at a time. Then...they are the most dominant things on ice.

That does not mean that they can turn a team around...that is a rare thing.

I think it's more about player experience when "flipping a switch". Veterans, who have gone deep into the playoffs, will coast at times during the regular season knowing that their bodies will need to be fresh come playoffs.

Which one of them flipped the switch and scored 6 goals in the 3rd period?
Which one scored 15 goals in their last 2 games and scored a grand total of 1 in the 2 games before that?
Talk about flipping a switch!
And 14 points for one line in 1 game! after about 3 points total in the previous 2 weeks?
One player 6 points in 1 game after getting 1 goal in how many weeks?

Some teams can sure flip a switch. You got that right!

No offense, Ek, but with so many milestones and records last night alone, the fact that little to nothing was said by you, our fearless leader, in his blog, is a bit galling.

I know you give ample space and opportunity to bloggers to do that, but I feel such milestones should at least be worth a mention in your blog as well. Just sayin.
