It was clearly interference so that sort of negates the puck was right there statement.

2 game suspension is ridiculous though just like multiple other worse plays getting nothing this season is ridiculous but hey..Modern NHL and all that.

As soon as Eichel hit him, I said he would get two games. It was functionally the same hit that got McDavid suspended.

Argue that they were both too many games if you want, but at least the wheel of justice was consistent for once? I guess?

If you had a clue, I’d be inclined to debate you. Look no further than half of the arenas in the league are half empty when they were always SRO. The teams marketing dept’s call me and kiss my a$$ to renew season tix. Most of the tix today are corporate owned, and given to employees and clients whom are not rabid fans. Add in the expansion fees the league has been getting, and it’s fools gold. League can’t support anymore teams. The only big revenue they’ll have is transfer fees from subpar markets. I’m not old chump. I’m just old enough to remember some great fun and rivalries when you were in grammar school. If you’re going to argue economics, and policy, you need to bring more the table than you’re old.

Boychuk is 6'-2". If you've ever played a second of hockey in your life you know that throwing or preparing to take a hit you lower your center of gravity a bit and explode with your legs. If Jake had gone real low and Boychuk had gone over top of him into the boards, that, in my mind, would have been a dirty play. He did what any other player seeing the hit coming would have done.

That the suspension was even more ridiculous similar to how Mantha not getting suspended for the head shove on Giroux was ridiculous.

Agree! In addition, the hit that Eichel got suspended for is due to poor officiating from the referees of that game. Had I taken the hit he did, I’d have come back and decapitated the guy. I see nothing wrong with what he did, considering the previous hit. On its own, it’s a penalty and maybe an additional game, but a guy has to stand up for himself. He did. Love it, suspension or not, and not a Beefalo fan.

The comparison to Peter Forsberg is irrelevant. Should we be revisiting all of Scott Stevens hits? Dino Cicarelli? Ken Linsman? Esa Tikanen? Lines get crossed from time to time and just because you move the line doesn't mean it should have been punishable previously.

Jake's suspension is being appealed, as it should be. Won't help the Flyers tonight though.
