Marcus Pettersson was definitely a nice get. It was a gamble though. Sprong had more value at the time of the trade IMO.

If you Pittsburgh has a tough schedule, you haven't looked at Columbus.

That third goal was horrendous in zone coverage from JJ. Could have let Bjugstad handle the puck carrier along the wall. Left his partner on an island to defend a 2v1.

I don't think this loss came down to effort or general poor play. I don't think one or two players playing a little better or on different lines would have made much of a difference.

The Pens just didn't play the same type of game they did on Thursday. Instead of playing a tighter game like they did, they played too loose and less structured.

And for the love of all things holy, they need to stop attempting to dump and chase. This is not a dump and chase team and they concede puck possession nearly every time they attempt it. Even if they don't get a super clean entry with the puck, they have a better chances of keeping the puck by skating it in with the skill they have.

Ha! It's really ridiculous. Nearly every time they dump and chase they concede possession of the puck. If they attempt that against Boston they are going to pay hard.

Teams have been pretty successful at forcing them into a dump and chase game. They've been standing us up all season. Nobody backs in like they used to. It's a sound strategy considering we don't win a lot of the races and battles.
