William Nylander and a 3rd or 4th for Zacha, Severson, and a 2nd?
Is this a fair trade for both teams and would you do it?
I figure this gives cap relief and certainty for the Leafs and Nylander can play 2nd line center spot. Devils would be a bit thin on the right D side, but Butcher can slide over to the right if needed. Sliding Butcher on the right can give a spot to Ty Smith on the left side. |

They'll just find a way to get Marleau to retire then trade his contract to Pheonix. You're overthinking this. |

I would definitely do it but Toronto wouldn't. They'll find a way to fit them all. Marleaus contract is coming off the books next year. Nylanders contract will be almost 4M cheaper next year and you have 3M more with Hainsey contract ending. I doubt they trade Nylander. |

Stay away from a kid that held out half a season early in his career - its just asking for trouble. Especially since his dad was worse. |

If Severson is as good as Devils fans think he is, maybe they can leverage that into a 1 for 1 for Nylander... |

The city of Calgary has 1.3 million people, who's demographic is probably more prone to take an interest in the sport. So...
Edit: The city of Newark has a population of 290,000. |

In a keeper league with 5 keepers out of a 18 player roster.. would you trade Rantanen +THREE 2nd round picks, in exchange for Kucherov + 4th, 6th and 7th? This would give you your third 4th round pick and a 6th and 7th where you previously didn't have picks in the 6th and 7th rounds. Total amount of rounds in the draft is 18. I've tried endless combos of players and picks for a week, but he's sticking to his guns with that offer. Total teams in the league is 20, non-snake draft. So.. a lot of players will go per round. Me having 3 2nd round picks is an asset, especially since I don't have my 1st round pick. Kucherov is Kucherov, tons of points and PPP.. and Rantanen is young, and may still improve.. but is over a PPG in his own right.

Severson is about 3M less while holding a better ppg this year. At this point a high minutes D is more valuable than a 7M, 4th year player with a career high 61 points.
More importantly, are we allowed to have Gryba finish the season as starting tendy? Ottawa is making it hard to compete for the best odds. |

Ottawa is out of reach. Our only chance is 2nd overall, which is ok with me. |

I'd stick with Rants and keep the picks. Your trading an 80 point guy for 100 point guy but Kucherov was an 80 point player at this point in his career. Rants obviously has less track record but he's a few years younger and I think the team around him is too. Just a guess.
