Severe over payment. Hopefully this isn't the only move the Jets make today. On the other hand there have been whispers of Lemieux having an Evander Kane like personality, so in many ways we may have alleviated a long term problem.

About the best we could hope for for a center. IMHO

Basically a late first round pick doesn’t seem like an overpayment to me. Lemieux was a fourth liner at best. The guy is 26, 6’5” and has skill.

All these quality assets flying and these teams have no chance of beating Tampa. Stone was Winnipeg's only chance to compete with Tampa. Tampa will now likely get Stone at lower cost as all these teams are now out of the running.

You also missed the opportunity to lock up a 26yo #1C that could lead during and through the build. IMO, given the pieces left on the Rangers, a 1st isn't worth that.

Can't trade away ALL talent.

How many years has it been that the bolts have been the favourites coming out of the East. There's a reason you actually play the game.

They have never had a team like they do this year. This is the NHL's best team in at least a couple of decades. Best forward group in the league, top 3 defense and the NHL's best goaltender. With the game's best coach and brightest GM in the league in BriseBois, this team will not lose this year. They are just that much better than everyone else.

I think Winnipeg is clearly the best team in the west. If Laine gets going, you never know. Stone would have put them over the top in the west. Hayes is a third line center on a good team. Probably would be #4 with the Bolts.

He's a big body, and an OK play maker, but he's soft.

You realize that Zucc was traded, yes? Take a wild guess at who was dishing to Zib.

There is zero chance he maintains his production without Zucc. Hayes has more upside than Zib - you know what you're getting with Zib, but I expect his production to decline without Zucc to the point where Hayes WOULD have been their 1C. Just my .02

Big body Center RENTAL. We gave up a 4th liner and a late 1st pick. Worth every penny IMHO

if you think that hayes is better than zib then you're not even worth debating with because you clearly have no idea what you're talking about
