There is also a world in which we get a 'bad' first round pick out of the lottery and become able to move up a few places with all of the extra picks if a team is looking to trade down. - Pomegrant
True as well. I don’t see us moving out of the bottom 5 unless Hall comes back like now, but that could be pick 8. I’m all in on Kakko, but if we drop to like pick 8 or 9 I wouldn’t mind seeing them grab a Broberg or Byram. |

The draft we won the lottery 3 teams moved up which means we could realistically get stuck with 6th, and worse if other teams out poop us in the end here. |

Good. But when we move him can we please get McLeod into the lineup so we can have a look during a wasted year. I mean knowing us we will probably call up Lappin or Pietila again. - smellmyfinger
And further ruin the tank??? give me Pietila. |

I'd hate to miss out on the Kakko/Hughes fun, but as long as we avoid Krebs and Dach I think we will make out alright. With Smith in the pipeline a Byram or Broberg would go a long way towards making our defense respectable in a year or two.
Also just want to say it again. Holy poop did we hit the lotto a second time in 2016. Bratt with the 162nd pick, 20 years old with 66 points in 121 games. That's the stuff Red Wings drafts were made of 10-15 years ago. |

We've been fortunate because we've won two lotteries in recent memory in which we moved up for Larsson and Hischier. At some point we're going to move down and we shouldn't be disappointed with a solid player.
We got lucky that in Bratt's year he was stuck in the lower tier Swedish league and only got hype because he was called up for a couple of games. Nobody cared about him. Not often you get a player with that kind of skill that late. |

It'll be nice to get a first rounder for Mojo. I can't remember the last time if ever the Devils had 2 picks in the first round. |

Have to be happy for getting a third and Connor Carrick isn’t an awful prospect.
The problem is both Connor and the third could turn to nothing. Need a solid return on Mojo to put the odds in our favor. |

Why does it matter if what we get from the Lovejoy trade turns into nothing? We signed him as a free agent and he was poop the entire time and we got anything from it. |

The positive of Carrick is he is a RFA and is probably bound for Binghamton next year.
We have to improve our AHL team- can’t keep sending decent prospects like Q, McLeod and Blackwood to the garbage team and expect them to develop. |

Stafford agostino seney on pp. We wanna out tank rags. Just gotta hope Cory doesn't keep ruining the tank. I'm happy for the guy and really wanted him to 4eturn to form, just wanted him to wait till next year...
Why no jacobs Murphy McLeod for a look? Not like it'll ruin them playing on a bad team, Bing stinks too |

It's amazing how garbage of a franchise the Rangers are. They can't even tank properly they are so dumb. |

The advantage they have is being a UFA draw, though they don’t have a history of making wise decisions there. |

Everybody says this but I don't actually think it's that true. They never actually land the best guy and NY taxes are so absurd that they'd have to over pay somebody by so much to make it actually worth it compared to smaller markets with just better overall teams. |

Turned a rusty 89 ford fiesta into a 2017 civic. Not a monster deal, but an absolute win of a trade in every aspect.
3rd rd pick>Lovejoy
Carrick>Lovejoy
(3rd plus Carrick) - Lovejoy = Ray the Savage |

It doesn’t matter. I meant Ray did a great job with the trade, but we shouldn’t assume what we got will turn into anything actually useful. |

No. Last time I was involved in one of those I got the clap.
But seriously yes. |
