Remember when people were concerned that Brock wouldn't sign out of University some years ago? Turned out to be nothing of course.

How long until we will hear rumblings of concern that Quinn Hughes won't sign (or resign) with the Canucks, because he'll want to play with his brother?

I can see Detroit winning the lottery, taking Jack Hughes and then rumours starting that Quinn wants to go home to play after his ELC is up.

Psychic.

Dont see it. He wanted to be here this year and they told him to go back. I think he will be in a canucks uni in the next 10 games or so

Oh, i'm not saying i think there is any validity to this completely made up story.
I'm just predicting that it will become a storyline at some point.

Thanks Carol. Fantastic and unbiased blogs. I was really hard on Green, but he seems to get the boys motivated. The Canucks are rarely an easy out anymore... but can someone help me understand his loyalty to Pouliot, who in my view would have trouble cracking the Comets roster?

Hearing that Mike Hoffman’s camp has been asked by Florida to submit its 10-team no-trade list which is part of the player’s modified NTC. It is a No list. Doesn’t mean he will be traded but obviously teams are calling so Panthers need to be ready.

From Pierre LeBrun...he's only been there one year but he's producing offensively.

Adam Gaudette is the only #Canucks player in uniform tonight that has scored vs Arizona this season (Sven Baertschi 2G & Darren Archibald have the others)

Hearing rumours that Quinnie won't sign until after his brother Grey's drafted.
If he ends up on another team Quinnie is staying in college and signing with the team his brother plays on.

Better trade him now

I think this one has legs. If I hear about it in MSM then I’m concerned.

“I’m not so sure anymore,” says Quinn Hughes, the Canucks blue chip defenseman. “I follow along and like everything that’s happening up there — watching how Boeser and Pettersson are changing the dynamics of that team. But I also have to think about myself and my future. Is Vancouver going to be where I want to play the rest of my career? I’m not sold on it at this point. I have a good thing going here in college, and don’t want to mess that up. Plus, with my brother being drafted this year, I’ve always dreamed to play alongside him. I’ve let this slip to my good bro Reubenkincade on Hockeybuzz, he knows what I’m thinking, he’s a good poster.”

Now that’s fake. No need to incite an already serious situation. This could set back the franchise for years.

”I don’t want to say anything right now, but I think the plan is definitely to sign,” he said, shying away from any firm commitment. “I’m really confident in my abilities. This year has been really good for me to get stronger, play another season in college.

“I think after this year I’ll be ready and obviously my main goal is to play in the NHL as soon as possible.”

The hype surrounding the future of the Canucks has not gone unnoticed by Hughes, who said he’s been paying attention and is excited to join in on the fun when the day comes.

“I’ll just do what I’m good at and hopefully that helps all of them out. I’m sure they’ll make me a better player, too, because I know how skilled and smart they are,” he says. “Hopefully we can just complement each other.”

Both from the past 3 months. Should put those flames out for a page or so

The drama starts next year, when his brother is drafted by another team.
Try to keep up.

Touchy subject. He has missed 22 of the 60 games this year. I would offer him a 2 year deal south of 5 mil. If he refuses ask him would he like a chance to win the cup this year?

We talk about hanging on to players until it is too late. Here is a Prime example.

Edler is the best Dman and I think this management has had 5 years to prepare for this . They better have an answer or the crowd will be unruly .

Give it two pages, people don’t back read and are prone to emotional hysterics. At that point, the MSM guys will comb it over and voila: tomorrow’s pole on the radio.
