Is Taylor Hall realistically resigning with the Devils? On the open market how much is he going to fetch?? 10 mill per or higher?

I’m hoping he sees Hischier, Bratt a very high draft pick and thinks the Devils are turning it around and takes a 8 year 72 million dollar deal.

Open market, who knows, teams will be lined up around the corner to sign him if he hits UFA.

Hall has injury history and getting closer to 30 might scare some teams.

Justin Holl + 2nd round pick for Severson. (I have no clue on his actual value. I'm literally guessing)

From what Mojo has shown the past month, ya wish he could've put it together like this from day one. But, nevertheless, he's gotta go. If Brian Boyle fetched us a 2nd round pick, theres no way Mojo doesn't net us a 1st. Who's to say we can't resign him in the offseason as well?

In a team desperate for defensive talent, trading Severson seems nuts.

While I appreciate Todd's belief that there has to be a plan, I'm pessimistic after last years non-offseason moves. People can complain about what happened to Lou Lams after the team suffered the insane losses of Parise, Kovy and Clarkson; but it's hard to see the Islanders in first place in the Metro and see the Devils stinking it up...

Completely agree. That's why I listen to offers. It was great to get him in his prime, and for relatively little, but it didn't work out. IMO it's hard to invest big money on a guy who's game is based on speed and who, for the majority of the contract, will be on the decline in his career.

I wouldn't put Clarkson in here. That turned out to be a blessing that he left!

pretty sure the Devils are just Oilers East

Hall Hischier Palmieri are the only offense to our Nuge, Connor Leon

Defence is basically Nurse Klefbom to Severson Vatanen

Goalies are... well.... lol for both

The good news about Hall is, regardless if he signs an extension or not, we will still be on the rise. We either have a franchise cornerstone if he signs, or he will bring in a great deal of assets to keep building with for our future. Its a win - win in my situation. There's no way Shero takes the Lou Lamoriello route with Hall.

Nobody is like the Oilers...tons of top picks that led to no playoffs. Even McJesus can save that team.

What Lou route are you referring to? In my opinion, the only thing he did wrong was wait to approach Parise. He shouldn't have waited but that might not have even mattered. Parise wanted to go home and Niedermayer wanted to play with his brother. IMO, those were the two that hurt the most and Lou made serious offers to both.

Heck, even though Holik and Gomez turned out to be disasters, Lou made serious offers to both. In the end, as Todd eluded to a bit, NJ isn't a destination spot and intrigue for other cities and markets has to exist with these players.

That’s a pretty terrible comparison to be honest.

Trading Severson only makes sense if we can upgrade him. We have very little prospect depth on the right side.

Trading mojo makes sense. Boqvist will likely be on the team and we have a decent chance at Kakko and Hughes. Not to mention there are lots of good free agent forwards and we have lots of cap space. I know we aren’t an attractive destination but we might be one of the few teams that can pay market value for the last FA standing.
