I mean, we went out of our way to sign Johnson for way above market value. You can't tell me other teams were even thinking about giving this dude, who was being scratched regularly by the epitome of old-school hockey mentality in John Tortorella, a contract within the same ball park as what the Penguins did. I don't think this falls into the "you lose some" category.

How pro or anti would you be to a Pettersson-Jensen swap? Logic for the Pens being that we're playing Johnson regardless and Jensen would give us a natural RD rather than making Johnson even worse by playing on Pettersson's right. We have way too many LDs and could stand to get a better RD for the bottom pairing.

Pettersson does not excite me at all but logically it would be a fair deal and DET could even throw in a mid round pick.

As a medical professional, from the moment Jack Johnson was signed I wondered does GMJR have Dementia? What other explanation is there to waste money and a roster spot on this certifiable lazy piece of garbage. My own 4-year-old son has enough sense to yell at the TV "Get rid of Jack Johnson." If it makes him smile, or shave his ridiculous mustasche, may be worth it a little. If he is still in a Pens Uni at the end of the contract it will be a miracle. Now, should he spend his share of time in the pressbox, sure. But to be this headover heels in hate is rough.
