I'm sure Vancouver would do Granlund for poolparty

Naw, poll party is a bust.

Wow that's up there with Chia's deals

Zucker is an absolutely fantastic forward. A 2020 1st and Puljujarvi is the base but then add the prospect to pay for the salary going their way.

I agree Zuckers a good player, but why not offer sheet Kapanen and keep your 1 st, and poo?

He said 2020 1st so the assumption is that we don’t draft as high in 2020 as we do this year....it’s certainly a gamble as I see what’s happening with the Sens right now....I wouldn’t be against getting Kapanen either

If the leafs are signing Marner they probably won't be able to sign Kapanen, unless they move others out. 4 mil could get it done.

IF the Leafs do run into cap trouble then hopefully whoever our new GM is actually has the mental capacity to look into it.....he helps fill one of our current biggest needs....play him with McDavid or Drai it wouldn’t matter

Would it be worth going after Granlund? Not as many years left on a contract like Zucker but still
- RatedR80

Zucker is FAR better and a better fit stylistically. Still worth exploring, but he doesn't rank very high on my list.

If I had to choose one or the other then it’s Zucker all day everyday but it’s good to have a plan c,d,e,f etc etc....realistically I don’t expect this team to do anything but sell off a few players at the TDL

Because offersheets don't happen often and our team is the last team I expect to think outside the box. That would go against every bit of evidence I have as to what Oilers culture is.

Silfverberg apparently signing a contract in excess of 5 x 5.

"In 2020-21 the Ducks will have just under $35M in cap space tied up in 36 year old Ryan Kesler, 35 year old Ryan Getzlaf, 35 year old Corey Perry, 31 year old Adam Henrique and 30 year old Jakob Silfverberg"

I hope to see them fall apart longer term, but I won't cross my fingers. More important is to see my Oilers become consistently competitive at minimum.

Hard to laugh given our current situation but because it’s the Ducks I can always take a time out from our embarrassment to point and laugh for a moment

Driving home from the movies I randomly flipped on ESPN radio. They had a commercial for an upcoming segment and this tid bit was from it:

“Coming up, we have the KiNG of rumors joining us to discuss the upcoming trade deadline. From hockeybuzz.com: Eklund!”

I almost crashed laughing at such a (frank)ing statement.
