They haven't won anything even with the plethora of talent they have though. - Feds91Stammer
This is true, he has had good results that any club should be happy with. But this team has been stacked for four years and i think alot of coaches would have taken TB that far and maybe even further. Against Pitt and Wash, Cooper got out coached big time. If he adapted better, it would probably hang another banner in the ceiling of Amalie Arena.
Dont get me wrong, i think Coop is an above average coach and i love his personality. But the question was about this teams weakest link and this roster top to bottom ranks higher then the guy behind the bench. - Cloud
Wasn't this the case for Barry Trotz's Capitals too?
A stacked team that couldn't get past the 2nd round, more notably, against the Pittsburgh Penguins? Couldn't you also say that he didn't adapt well enough initially? Even prior to his time in Washington, this was the case with Nashville.
It took them 4 tries to finally crack through and get to the final, eventually winning the Stanley Cup.
Perhaps it may be the same case with Cooper.
I get what you're saying, but I think this could be more of an indictment on the players rather than the coach, especially when you're best player comes out and says that "I definitely didn’t feel I played my best hockey I could play..." after you're eliminated from the playoffs - last year - (

What are the examples of that? Against Washington, the best player on the team, Kucherov, did not show up and it was a close series. - Kucherovski
This.
Here is a link towards an article that notes how even Kucherov states “I definitely didn’t feel I played my best hockey I could play..." after that playoff series with Washington.

How is that an example of being out coached or not adjusting? They lost a series, even the best coaches ever lose series. You make a statement that he was out coached so was looking for how....putting up game scores is not an example of how someone was out coached. - Kucherovski
This.
Even the closest game in that image was won by the Lightning (3-2 win), so.... |

While that is true, don't dismiss the point.
The same concerns brought up now against Cooper were brought up against Trotz. It took the Capitals 4 tries to get over that hump. There was a repetition of failure until success was attained.
Perhaps the same can be eventually said about Cooper? |

His team was shutout 2 games in a row when they needed a win to get to the finals. |

Not saying it can't be done because he has a ton of talent. Just pointing out Cooper is overrated by most and hasn't won a Stanley Cup. |

Yeah, If I'm remembering it correctly Stamkos and Kucherov weren't really producing and Cooper was being pretty stingy with his lines in that series. Can't say that I've been the biggest fan of Cooper during his stay here, but there are worse coaches that we could have. |

I am fine with that... lol... even more crazy is only 3 of his 99 points were into empty nets and of those 3 points all are assists. |
