No Niku, no Vesalainen. Period.
Roslovic, Stanley, 2019 1st, and a Petan.
Petan and Roslovic are instantly in the top 6, and Stanley played with Logan Brown in 2 separate teams in junior. |

Vaisaline’n and a first is the highest we should give up! Anymore is overpayment and I don’t think Ottawa gets a anything close to a Connor or Roslovic type player.

You’re nuts with those trade scenarios... I dug up my password from 8 years ago to tell you that.
Kyle Conner.... I would keep him over Laine any day and you’d throw this guy in for what possibly be a 2 month rental? And include a 1st rounder plus????

Peter. You've absolutely lost your marbles with that article. At least every Jets fan hopes you have. I can see no way in hell that Chevy ever gives up the type of talent you are referring to in the article. No GM in the league would give up that much let alone frugal Chevy
Your calls are :
" 1st round pick, Connor and Logan Stanley for Mark Stone- do you do this?
OR
1st round pick, Jack Roslovic, Veslainen and Petan for Mark Stone- do you do this?"
Seriously. Chevy won't even give up Connor straight up for a Stone rental. Roslovic is as high as he will go. Perreault plus something if Perreault would waive his NTC. Otherwise a 1st and Poolman and Petan.
There are lots of good rentals out there , Zuccarello, Staal, Duschene, Stone, Panarin, Ferland ,Skinner, Pavelski, Hayes, Simmonds, etc , etc ,etc. A long list. Chevy won't give up the farm . Supply is much higher than demand.
BTW...Vesalainen is totally unproven and not exactly lighting it up this year in Finland. He is not remotely up to Kyle Connor's elite level. |

Sorry PETE, you are offering up way, way to much!!!!! |

I am glad Peter is not the GM. I do wish he was our coach! |

There is just no other way to say it.... Pete doesn’t hockey. I’m trying to be nice but this is complete garbage to read and coming from someone that covers the jets. 80% of time it’s negative articles on the jets. I think in my estimation there is easily 25 teams that would trade rosters and prospects with the jets. Just give them credit for what they’re doing and know they will be competitive for a good long time. NHL EA sports wouldn’t approve those trades. Sad to read is all. |

So what happens with Laine if the Jets acquired Stone now or in the offseason and signef him to a big contract? Laine become expendable? |
|
|
|
No where did i say this is what should be done. I based it on the ask that is out there- a 1st, roster player and top prospect.
Then assume the Jets want to sign Stone as this would play to their belief of not burning assets. So much could be conditional but if you are signing Stone, and they will have a pretty good idea what that means if they are inquiring about a trade, salary is going out.
Also i put it from Dorian’s point of view in the ask not the offer. Nowhere did i say Chevy should offer those up.

Something like a first round pick, Niku or Comrie and Petan is very reasonable for a two month rental and if I was Ottawa I’d be happy with that or something similar. Ottawa may get more but not by much. My thoughts.

Laine prefers to play on his off wing, he just needs to develop his defensive side further before he can play left side regularly in the NHL |

Why jump to Connor or Roslovic as the roster player and not Appleton or Lemieux? |

Was thinking more about the cap and the contract Laine will be looking for. He is going to want Draisatal money at least - would the Jets keep him or trade him if they signed Stone? |

All of your trade scenarios are unbelievably horrible for the Jets in getting an UFA Stone. Stone isn't Gretzky in his prime and you want to give away way more than the Kings gave for Gretzky. Are you secretly a Sens fan? |

Let’s agree jumping to Connor or Roslovic was ridiculous!
Wouldn’t trade either in a package for Stone.
Vas-man, Petan, Comrie and our 1st are the assets I would have available nothing else.
I’ve of the mindset don’t trade D-prospects if you don’t have to.
Stanley - a project/longshot
Niku- won the Norris of the AHL
Poolman- needs to see if health and play are both on the upswing
Samberg- not a chance i deal him
Forwards I believe easier to find |

He may want Draistl money but he doesn’t have 1/3 of the hockey skill that Leon does at this point |

Really hoping the Flames get Stone but.....
If it's a 1st round pick, Connor and Logan Stanley for Mark Stone.
The Jets will win the bidding.
If it's
1st round pick, Jack Roslovic, Veslainen and Petan for Mark Stone.
Other teams are in this race as IMO Petan does not have huge value.
Of all the teams in the running the Jets definitely have the best prospect pool so no wonder Dorian is fishing here first. |

Draisatl has almost double the points this year over Laine. Can play C or wing, is physical and a beast on the puck.
Actually no comparison at this time |
