I agree with Tanner, any team that can land him and I hope its Wpg.

I am leaning toward Chevy going for it here on Stone.

Sens could really hit a home run here ... If they can't resign Stone which should be their 1st option.

I would think that a 1st & 2nd / NHL ready highly skilled kid and at least another highend prospect.

If the Kings got 2 solid prospects and a pick for Muzz ... then Stone should easily command that and more.

Kings analogy doesn’t work. Muzzin has a year left at a very reasonable price, that increase value in a major way.

Stone for a first and Vassalainen should be enough, if you have to throw in a Petan it’s a no brainer, not going to hurt you.

If Stone has one year left at reasonable price the value would increase accordingly

Plus, there was only 1 solid prospect in the trade for Muzzin. Durzi is a giant maybe.

I'd imagine a lesser prospect. No chance the Jets can retain him. He would likely be a rental. That package is better than what LA got for Muzzin because Vassalainen is a better prospect.

I say they cant retain with the thought that the Jets put money into the defense with both Myers and Trouba needing new contracts as well and Laine and Connar.

I took that into consideration ... My reasoning being even with that extra year and being a D man ... Stone is still vastly superior to Muzzin. A strong contender for a Selke a excellent D forward who can really fill it up.

I recall reading recently that Durzi was rated above or at Liljegren ... I thought Fridge posted that from a scout..

The only "scout" that thinks that is Grant McCagg, and he's an idiot.

Liljegren >>>> Durzi

Durzi is an overager in the OHL and Liljegren has played 2 seasons in the AHL and was inline for a promotion to the Leafs come the end of this season, until he suffered a high ankle sprain (he also got hurt again not too long ago while trying to come back).

Some scouts were saying that Mac Hollowell, also in the OHL, has surpassed Durzi on the Leafs D depth charts.

Columbus is a great spot, if we have to dump Breadman.

a lot up in the air for the Jets this summer!! you never know, we could keep Stone and Laine if;

-Laine signs a bridge based on his non spectacular year
-Connor asks for Nylander money and ends up getting dealt for a D on a good contract like Ghost or Pesce
-Trouba is traded for a first rounder at the draft and a good young player on entry level deal.
-Myers walks and the Jets go with Niku and Poolman in his place

yes a lot of moving parts but all possible.
