Whaddya think about CooCoo now?
Far better skater (faster) than Forsling and seemingly NOT afraid of his shadow.
Also has a better last name! Could it be that Stan pulled off another under-the-radar move by dumping Ruuta for this former 1st rounder? Sure seems possible.

One other note -- was Seabrook playing drunk the 1st 2 periods?
He goes back to touch up on an icing with puck along the boards and falls on his ass. Gets up and looks totally out-of-it.
And what's with his Eddie Munster hairline look in those stupid lawyer commercials?

This is so confusing. If they make the playoffs does Kane win the MVP? He kind of has to right?

Gimme that AA deal.

Exactly the kind of player the Canes are searching for. A guy who is capable of playing 15~ minutes per night but isn't really a fit or is underutilized by his current club.

AA for Necas (Canes)? He'll need a new number tho, I think #88 is taken

Some great thoughts, TC.

I don't see Arty with the team either, but who replaces him? Trade for an upgrade, packaged with Forsling? I like both players, but if their times are up ... I thought Arty would move in the summer.

I would like to see Ward back on a similar deal. I've liked his play, shakey at times, yes, but still sees a crap ton of shots. A lot of high danger shots.

More veteran for Rockford ... keep that push for the playoffs going. Hawks and Hogs.

I like the 2 and 7 pairing. They have been playing better together of late. Still some problem areas due to age, but still a lot of compete in their games.

You were always critical of how Bickell was getting his skates sharpened? Maybe Seabrook has the same issue?

You can have Forsling too or we can meet in the middle at Kuokkanen

I really like the play of Koekkoek so far. Nothing flashy, but just steady defense, and seems to know when to jump into the play on the offensive side, as evident by that slick pass to Toews last night.

Stan so far gets an A++ for the trades he has pulled off in season this year. It is looking like maybe Stan was a bit handcuffed by Q, at least in that Q wanted certain veteran types, and Stan seemed to try to placate him. At least that is my thinking now with the stellar trades he has pulled off since Q left. I guess if he does as well in the offseason, it will provide more proof to this. I always felt that Stan had a good eye for talent/skill.

It goes to show you that not everything (in fact hardly anything) seems to be one guys fault these days, and we don't always know all of the details, so maybe we should go a bit easier on management and coaches, since we don't know the whole picture.

This is probably about what Anisimov will bring. An OK player and a pick. Hawks are not getting one of Carolina's top prospects, like Necas.

Hawks need to move Anisimov to any taker they can find. Reading some of the proposals on last blog made me scratch my head. Move him, free up that cap space, and call it a day. If he gets them a prospect and picks, GREAT. The next time they are a true contender, he probably won't be on their team, cut ties and call it a day ASAP!

lol Darling was a disaster but the TT thing worked out okay.

Pretty happy we were able to get rid of Kruger though.

AA and Forsling for a 2019 2nd and 2020 3rd. Looks like the Canes have an extra pick in each of those rounds.

Not a bad offer. Especially if Car thinks AA can help them with playoff push.

Any word form those who follow Rockford on how Jokiharju is playing? His arrival seems to coincide with the Ice Hogs improved results.

Thanks!

Close but don't want Forsling.

We already have too many defensemen and Haydn Fleury and Jake Bean waiting to play on the left side.

Why move Forsling (or Hayden for that matter) for a pick? If anything, you include Forsling to get a better prospect in return. IMO Hawks are looking for prospects more than picks as this will be an impatient rebuild. Kunitz for a pick tho makes sense.

AA would be a nice fit. Assuming Staal gets healthy again he'd slot in as what would technically be the 3C, but the Canes tend to roll their top 3 lines pretty evenly.
