Skinner has 17 assists in 56 games. Was a perennial 25-30 goal guy before this season. A 33 year old vanek almost had as many points as Skinner did last year. Vanek in his prime not only would score 50 along with Eichel, but he also sets up Eichel so he could score 35. Skinner needs to score cause if he doesn’t he is no different then CJ Smith in every other facet of the game. Skinner is the last guy I’d want defending anyone one on one, he clearly doesn’t have much play making skills either. Elite goal scorer though, but so was Vanek. Skinner puts up 25-30 goals on a line with Roy though and is at 50-55 point player at best.

Vanek had some good seasons, it our team was overall way better. Some of the best teams we have ever had.

Skinner joined the 1st team ever to finish 31st overall.

He has john jack, but his sniper skills are better in my opinion.

And those '08-12 teams don't sniff the playoffs without Vanek.

I'd like to see Skinner in the 2006-2009 years of the NHL where you couldn't put a stick on anyone and see how many goals he would get.

Let's not forget him best two years goal wise was in the juiced puck years where a penalty was called every 2 seconds.

Vanek's best year IMO opinion was the 2010-2011 season where he carried the Sabres but Derek Roy was a ppg player that year (he was hurt) and Drew Stafford was in a contract year I believe and put in 31 goals in 62 games

They aren't even close to the same player though so comparing them is sure difficult

Playing with Eichel he would have been. You’re forgetting the most important variable. Skinner was never 2nd in scoring with the Hurricanes either. Eichel is making a Ferrari out of a ford pinto. Living legend would have scored 25-30 in a full 82 game season with Jack and he’s 36 and practically washed up.

I had 2 of them . my 76 wagon did 130 mph with a 4 cylinder
1st one was a 72 hatchback that would chirp the tires going into 2nd gear with an automatic. Had the conversion kit to install a small block 289/302/351W but never did it . Damn kids .
