Botts is just developing players properly. Ullmark played a ton of games last year to prepare him to make the jump this year. Oloffsson might be able to play in the NHL tomorrow but by having him marinate in the AHL, when he does eventually make the team he could be better off.

Dominate the ECHL then get the starting gig next year. UPL and Johansson probably split the crease next year unless they want UPL starting in Cincy which i doubt but it could be possible.

Botts is just developing players properly. Ullmark played a ton of games last year to prepare him to make the jump this year. Oloffsson might be able to play in the NHL tomorrow but by having him marinate in the AHL, when he does eventually make the team he could be better off.

Interesting how some on this board are questioning why Botts let Lehner walk. Memories must be short because Lehner completely SUCKED last year and he couldn't stop a break away or shootout attempt. Plus his qualifying offer would have been $4.5 million. A much lower priced Ullmark over Lehner was a no brainer.

Yes . was regarding questionable plays , reviewed by officials during commercial breaks.

Lehner last year was the very definition of the guy who needed a change of scenery. For the sake of his life and career.

I’m an Olofsson fan. But we should not want him here.

CJ Smith was making the AHL his b**** when he went back down. He is just another player on the big team. If Oloffsson is going to be an NHL player he'll have to stick in the top 6. When he dominates that league and has consistency (he's had a few cold streaks down there) he will then be on the big team imo. He might get a game or two up here this year however.
