I have been saying this for years.

It seems very clear to me that this roster continues the fine Sabres tradition of players playing however they want on the ice, largely the cheating in their own zone to better enable their offensive game... defying a couple of Coaches and their systems.
When they do commit to playing with structure it is very, very evident. Both under Bylsma and now under Housley. Over the years we have heard
-Dancin Disco Dan lament about it,
-Phil preach it,
-Reporters talk about it, and how both Coaches have reached levels of frustration...they practice t, but then fail to execute during gamez
-rumors of locker room divide between those committed and those not
-players comment about "playing right".

Honestly, somehow the "cheaters", uncommitted need to get the message loud and clear.
The evidence for success from commitment is going to be on the ice as their opponent tonight.

yes, I know Groy is a UFA. Why wouldn't we just re-sign him.. for cheaper.

Groy is unsigned. Long is signed. They're virtually the same player. This still makes no sense to me.

I understand the need for depth. Fine. But why not just.. keep Groy, and pay him a fraction of the 3 yr/13M you gave Long.

This would make sense to me if Groy was unwilling to sign with the Bills and/or he wanted more than 4.3M per year.

As long as he doesn't quit the team in the middle of a game, fine

I'm hoping Duke Williams brings at least something to the table. He has always had the tools, and recently, has the desire. No reason he can't succeed. OTAs don't tell nearly the whole story, but I'm pulling for him for sure.

Played guard at Nebraska. Was forced into a center role for the redskins due to injury. I wouldn’t be surprised if he plays C due to experience but if someone else shows up he is a much better guard.

Having a supreme talent would be great if he didn't complain about the team and its players every (frank)ing day. His cap hit is pretty serious though. It would bring his trade value down for sure.

Not sure the Bills are ready to use assets to bring in a guy of that caliber. It'd be pretty neat though. They'd have to have a very strong short and long term plan in place, and be able to withstand 3 years of a 22M/year prima donna.
