I aint putting no ginger ale - or any other "Mixer" for that matter - in my booze.

The seventh commandment says I "shall not commit adultery."

But a little ice and a drop of bitters in there and be faithful to the female dog.

How about a big, mobile RhD with a meanstreak who is willing to stick his nose in the middle of a dance to protect linemates.
Wonder what they would pay for that?

If Getzlaf is available you absolutely make a play for him.
- dadeadhead

Even at $8.25M for the next two seasons when he'll be 34-36, and with what the Ducks would want for him?

Sabres have to go 15-7-5 to hit 96 points. Safe to say if they don’t win 4 of their next 6 before the deadline that we should SELL, SELL, SELL.
- Pegullaville

Regardless of how they play the next 13 days, they should be actively trying SELL, SELL, SELL
Slobodka
Pommer
Scandella
Bogo
Girgenson
Lockport Larry

Hell, I'd even trade Skinner to a limited number of teams who will have Cap challenges to overcome in the offseason...i.e. Bolts, Peg (reduces the chance of him resigning there if he likes it there)

I love that I get attacked for saying Botts should do something, that he is doing nothing to help this team and yet here is a writer saying Botts is too patience. Love it!

At his age?
Big Cap hit

What’s it cost to get him?

I don’t think we are close enough to be acquiring guys like that (mostly age)

???????????????????

after next season only eichel, okposo, dahlin, risto and hutton are under contract

botts has room to do whatever he wants to mold this team

30 mil in cap space for next season, skinner, mccabe- e rod - and ullmark need to be signed

- homiedclown

Nice to get Pominville/ Moulson off the books next year but in two years so much garbage comes off the cap- Bogo, Scandella, Sobotka, Hunwick

he is no better in year 2 behind the bench then when he was a rookie last year

the d has only slightly improved

his game management, decisions, I think a monkey could do just as good

a monkey only has a 1 in 3 chance to come back with the 4th line after you score a goal to get within 1 at home

- homiedclown

It's like he doesn't even believe in his own system to some extent. He wants to stand teams up at their own blue line to prevent them from gaining speed through the neutral zone (I really like that aspect), but he doesn't play the personnel that can transition the other way.

I guess if u think he’s the missing piece,
then you go after him

BUT...
what extra assets does he cost?
AND...
it’s an extra 4mil? in Cap Room we won’t have to work with- that’s significant

Trouba on his own doesn’t make us great
Still more pieces to add
That extra 4mil would help

- jdfitz77

Well, he's a RFA so Offer Sheet is the only way to acquire him...and his contract value will likely translate to the cost of 4 - 1sts.
IMO, That said, he would be a significant piece to the puzzle and I would give it very significant consideration.
Him and Dahlin on 1st pairing for next 7 years would be very sweet.

Smith-Larsson-Erod is a fine 4th line, if Housley would commit to playing them like a 4th line

a trade for a re-signed Trouba would be far less than 4 firsts IMO

He’s exactly what this team needs.

Second line center
Only on the books for two more years
Playoff performer
Stanley cup winner

Hairs are standing on the back of my neck.

I fear Okposo 2.0 but with acquisition costs in addition to the salary.

Not saying i don’t like him
He’s just gonna cost a ton to get,
and a ton to sign
