For the record Lou traded down twice in 2008, to settle on tedenby while letting john carlsson go to washington a few picks later. Then in 2009 he traded down to grab the legendary jacob jofeson, while passing on a young marcus johansson and klye palmarei.

Thanks for sharing that depressing news...

To be fair Washington moved down to 21 to take Anton Gustafsson?! Minnesota moves to 23 to take Tyler Cuma?! And we picked 24th to take Tedenby. None of theses moves resulted in our poopty drafting. The only good player to go off the board was Jordan Eberle at 22nd by Edmonton.

Do you still hate European players? Knowing full well the future of your franchise is European.

Thats what Lou always did and thats how we ended up with the talentless Bighamton team we have now.

I'd trade our first and something else for Panarin and his new 8 yr contract .

Its a good think your just an armchair gm...... Target panarin in the offseason. Not many teams can afford him, so we are on the short list of teams prepared to pay him around 9M long term. Lets just keep that cheap, high 1st rounder.

If NJ doesn't get a top 3 pick, Broberg should be the guy they target.

And tanking is fun and all, but top 3 is still determined by lottery, and this year, winning the lottery would be a big upgrade where the years we actually won the lottery weren't much of a positional upgrade at all.

Broberg seems a big minute defence, which the franchise needs both in their system and on their roster right now.

If NJ ended up with 4th-7th overall, the smart thing to do would be to trade down (or away entirely) because I am not a fan of Dach or Cozens.

Yeah, but as of right now the lowest you finish in terms of draft is 6th overall. Broberg might still be on the board at 6.
