Last I checked Lindholm was ahead of Stone in the scoring race . You can make a convincing case for either one of those players to be better than the other--too close to say forsure IMO.

Seriously? Which one is Stone and which one is Lindholm (the TOI should give you a clue--dogpoop teams tend to ride their best players a little harder ). Are you actually a blogger, or are you just some Ottawa fanboy?

......

At 24 Lindholm is 3 years younger than Stone and is locked up at a reasonable 4.85 million for 6 years. From a production standpoint the edge goes to Stone (for now), but Lindholm hasn't even hit his prime yet.

Both players are excellent defensively.

Lindholm is good at faceoffs--which saves some wear & tear on Monahan because we can use him for strong-side faceoffs. I would also argue that Lindholm is the more physical of the two.

So yeah, I do think its a relatively close call.

Just a quick comment re: your analysis of Winnipeg's forward core. Specifically their top six wingers. With Connor and Ehlers playing left, you completely forgot about Patrick Laine. Their current top six is as follows:

Connor Scheifele Wheeler
Ehlers Little Laine

I'm not sure you could demote any of those guys to the third line. But in a playoff run rental situation, Stone or any of those aforementioned wingers sets up a NASTY third line. I'm just not sure I see it as a long- term fit without shipping one of those four out of Manitoba.
