1 win against a pathetic team seems to be the only thing to cheer about this season. Dumba's out, Mikko's out, DD's game is intermittent, and guys are just through garbage at the net to try and fill their much needed role of an elite goal scorer. The team is on the same roller coaster it's been on for the past 6 seasons, same story different day. I hate the fact that I am am always feeling negative about this team, but DAMN WE NEED A REBOOT SOOOOOO BAD! Just pull the trigger and drop half the core and see what happens. What the hell can we loose at this point?!

Yep, tear down this roster. Time to dream big and makeover this roster.

With a tip of the hat to mnMild, let's send Spurgeon/Zucker/Soucy and a 3rd Rd pick to the Oilers for Draisaitl/Yamamoto. I know that it doesn't seem like enough for Draisaitl, but I honestly believe a lot of his points come from time on the ice with McDavid. I think Zucker would thrive with just limited ice time with McDavid. I think I would thrive with limited ice time with McDavid.

Next, I am sending Granlund/Brodin/Dubnyk/Bouramann to the Canes for Faulk/de Haan/Mrazek/Svechnikov. I know Carolina is trying to get Mark Stone, but Granlund is on the same playing field and won't cost as much. Also, this improves the goaltending situation in Carolina, that is why the cost is Svechnikov.

Next, what teams would Staal prefer to try and get a Cup with this season? And then out of those teams, let's see who gives up the best deal. I still believe that Staal will net a 1st Rd pick, but I also might be over valuing him (I don't think I am) because I am a Wild fan. Would like to bring him back in the off-season on a 2 year deal. Another off-season job would be to buyout Rask.

I should add that in this dream sequence, these moves open up about $8 mil in cap space for next year.

Haven't given a starting roster lately, so I guess now is what I would be running out there to see if it can help the Wild score a little more.

Zucker - JEE - Granlund (find out if JEE can be more than 4th line C)
Parise - Staal - Kunin (the lunch pail crew...will work the hardest)
Greenway - Coyle - Foligno (big boy line that can score)
Rau - Rask - Fehr (ummm, keep to 8 mins of ice time)

Suter - Spurgeon (ummm, duh, the best healthy Dmen)
Brodin - Bitetto/Hunt (matching up against big team or fast team)
Seeler - Pateryn (started the season as a good 3rd pairing)

Dubnyk/Stalock

Of course, this all changes when the trades start happening. With the forwards, I can see 3 of the top 6 being traded, and 2 of the top 4 Dman traded. Not saying they will be, but I wouldn't be surprised. And I think we already know that neither Coyle or Rask can be the #1 C, so might as well give JEE his shot for the rest of the season. Maybe he tops out as a #2 C, but with what they have given him for linemates and playing time so far in his career, he has never really had a long stretch to show what he can do in that spot. Time to find out now.
