Habs are 100% overachieving.
They literally have (frank) all and Price.
Gotta give Julien credit for getting them to play like they are but without depth it won’t last long.
Habs will be lucky to make the playoffs. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Habs embrace a culture of play that they seem to carry forward to each team regardless of the individuals.
Frankers never stop, are never easy to play against, can never be taken for granted, and are quite fearless - a lot of traits than can pose problems for unsuspecting teams. |

Bruins/Habs series is always awesome to watch indeed. - BashCH
Absolutely... I just hope it isn't in the second round
Love watching the Bruins get frustrated by playing a team where the refs don't give them the advantage. |

Wasn't expecting much from the Habs this year. Really happy with the season even though I would've liked another high pick.
So you can give me any bullpoop stat, they still give themselves a chance to win almost every game. Always exciting to watch. - BashCH
It's not a bullsh!t stat. I had honestly had the Habs fighting for a wildcard this year. And they are a fun team to watch actually. Julien is easily one of the best coaches in hockey.

... and you will get playoffs and anything can happen, especially if Price is amazing - Aetherial
Doubt the Habs get through the first round but we never know. As long as we don't get a borefest like their last playoffs series against the Rangers I'm ok with it. |

I think I would be a little more optimistic than you about their chances. I agree they would likely end up underdogs and not have home ice advantage, but Price can change everything.
If things break your way, an injury here or there against your opponents...
Look at a couple years ago, the universe aligned perfectly to let the Sens almost creep into the finals... how many last minute and OT goals did they score off of bad bounces that spring?
Habs are better than that team was.

Guess what Vegas did last year can give hope to almost anyone as well

Depends on the matchups;
I think they could beat Columbus/NYI/Penns or even the Caps if Price was the MVP Price. It would be tougher against Tampa/Bruins/Leafs IMO.

No one should want to face the Pens in a playoffs series... |

First round of the playoffs is always fantastic - never know what is going to happen. After that, it often becomes more predictable. |

Anyone with a great goalie - Jets goalies look pretty mediocre right about now.

Agree, but they 3-6-1 in their last 10 and only one point up on the Canes. They are up and down like a toilet seat this year. I would much rather face the Pens than Tampa - guess its wait and see.

Agreed. I still feel this Leaf team has not shown their best yet this year. This team is very, very talented. |

... still the most shocking thing I have seen in sports. Even Miracle on ice was a very small sample size but Vegas nearly went wire to wire and won the cup.

The Leafs are 2nd in goal diff and 2nd in winning % yet are not seen as close to a contender. I like how this team is flying under the radar. |

there have been one or two moments in the year when they looked like they were playing to their potential but not nearly often enough.
That is what makes me think the team is still a year or two away.
They have to hope some players make the same progression that we saw out of Kadri.
Also, teams that win cups have their veterans as their best players. Leafs need some time to get there.

No, they've lost three in a row, including a humiliation by the Habs, but Laine (who the Leafs should have taken 1st overall - according to Spatso) is not what he was in Oct/Nov. They are a very good team, and a deep team with a good coach, I think the goaltending may be an issue.
