Time to sell and get younger. This team isn't constructed to win. If brian boyle just netted a 2nd rounder, what would Staal be worth to a contender? Or even Coyle? Time to accept that this team isnt going to make a run.

Amen Mild! There is really not much to get excited about with the Wild right now. The Leafs want/need a right shot dman, time to send Spurgeon there. If anything, last night helped increase his worth in a trade. Time to give the Leafs what they want and get a nice return.

I listed this trade yesterday. Send the Granlund/Spurgeon/Rau/Bitten trade for Nylander/Kapanen/Der-Arguchintsev. The Leafs get a player that can play RW in Granlund to replace either Nylander or Kapanen. They get their right handed Top 2 Dman that they need. Rau adds an affordable depth piece, as their current depth will have to move up and Bitten gives them someone controllable for a few more years that they can develop.

Wild get younger with Nylander and Kapanen. Nylander starts playing C right away, so the Wild can figure out if they have a true #1 C or not. Kapanen replaces Granlund as top RW. Der-Arguchintsev gives the Wild some needed talent in the prospect pool...and at 18, is young enough to sit ad develop for 3-4 more years. Can be coming up around the time Ivan Lodnia is starting to come into play.

Next up is Staal. See what teams he would like to go to first, then see what of those teams are willing to give a good return for. Talk to Staal about coming back to the Wild after the season. Next shop Zucker. Only trade him away if you can get a really good deal...same thing with Brodin. I've come to the conclusion that the Wild should keep Coyle, as Parise just appears to be a tad better when playing with Coyle.

Depending on what Fenton can get before the trade deadline, I am starting to expect a buyout of Rask...all depending on whether Fenton can get a couple of centers in trades. But I won't be surprised by a buyout.
