I don't see it, they are a deep talented team now (Flames) and they're getting goaltending, just me but I don't want them to just make the playoffs, I want them to be in a position to compete for a Cup.

Team Needs

1) Starting Goaltender: Most contenders don’t get to that point if they have a need at starting goaltender. This year’s Flames are a rare exception.

2) Top-Nine Winger: Michael Frolik, Sam Bennett, James Neal, and Austin Czarnik simply haven’t panned out as expected this season. As dominant as the Flames’ top line and two-thirds of their second line has been, they have needed help on the wing in the middle six for much of the year.

3) Veteran Depth Defenseman: Even though depth on defense has been identified as a strength for the Flames moving forward, there are some concerns at present.

Florida made a big trade this week with the Pens and according to HNIC and SN650 are not finished. Bobroski Panarin and Canucks favorite Gudbrandson have all been linked heading to Florida. I have also heard Derrik Brassard should not unpack his bags.

Someone asked me why Florida on here this week and I did not have an answer. Since then I have heard there is a very strong Russian population living in South Beach combined with warm weather , beautiful city and very low taxes.

Columbus have told teams they can not talk to Panarin or Bobr prior to trade which leads me to believe the Miami link is true.

My Speculation .

I have said for months I want a trade and always come to the second pairing RHD. This is why I say Hamilton but here maybe is another angle .

Winnipeg and Trouba have not had a strong love affair and have been linked to wanting Brassard . Yes the beloved three way. Gudbrandson to Fla for Brassard. Then Hutton and Brassard to Wpg for Trouba.

I think it would be easier for Wpg to manage Huttons 3 mil 3 year contract over Troubas 8 year 6 mil.

I am also speculating Gagner with be with the Leafs or Marlies by the start of next year.

Cole Lind has had very positive feedback . He got an assist last night and according to Corey H other teams hate him. A nice agitator.

Zack and Gadjovich both got into fights last night Gads Tied Zack won.

Also from Cory RHD Chatfield is back and having a very good return . Loves to mix it up in front of his own net. He was thougt to be the replacement for Guddy but since then we also picked up Schenn who had two assists last night and has been playing very well.

I'd take those two newly acquired 4th round picks by Florida for gudbranson tbh. Canucks dont have to do a whole lot to change the third pair imo. Trading gudbranson, claiming marincin and putting DP on waivers would instantly make that third pairing better imo (assuming biega or Mceneny gets the call)
