I think this is going to be a tougher game than TB. TOR is a much faster team and the Pens tend to get caught up on the North/South game which is no longer their strength.

Which is an interesting thought since TB has been so dominant all season but Toronto has been struggling (compared to what was expected) and their offensive production has been streaky. They’re constantly moving guys all over the lineup but obviously Muzzin is a big X factor

I just think the Pens match up better against Tampa. Tampa isn't slow by any means, but they're a super fast team; Toronto is and the Pens struggle against teams with speed.

I think Sid’s 1-T is on par with Malkin’s, he just doesn’t get to use it nearly as much. I think Sid is better down low and on the half wall over Geno. Too many turnovers from 71 in that spot

Geno’s been far point lately though hasn’t he? I think Geno’s got more heat on his.

I’m sure it does. He’s got more body weight and he has a much bigger curve which improves forehand velocity

To put in perspective how different the NHL is and how (frank)in good Coffey was, Letang has played 12 seasons and is chasing the records by a player who only played for the Penguins for 4.5 seasons.

Maatta caught out of position on that goal IMO. Leaving Kola with a 2 on 1 in front. Can’t cover both guys but he does a decent job boxing out

Something I’m noticing about McCann, he’s very aware on the offensive side of the puck but he sometimes gets his blinders on. He’s a bit of a puck watcher in the D zone and he loses his gap a bit. If he can work on his awareness, I think the kid will be effective for a long time.

Cullen has some extra pep in his step. I think he feels like he’s at risk of losing his job when Geno comes back (although Wilson likely sits). But how long can he keep it up? Hell, he probably burns himself out

Pens definitely got outplayed this period, but thanks to Murray and some taking advantage of some chances the Pens have the lead.
