What’s higher his corsi or credit score? - Feds91Stammer
its funny. normally as a kid, i needed my parents to cosign any loans or serve as guarantors. in his case, im pretty sure there are stipulations preventing that. |

I don't think he'll see the end of that contract here. They'll keep him next year and hope NHLPA opts out of the current CBA after next season. I'm sure there will be at least one compliance buyout with a new CBA. If not, they should buy him out. - madmike71
Sportsnet is reporting that the Owners and the PA are in accord that they do not want to shorten the current CBA, or at least that’s what I recall. They want to avoid another lockout basically at all costs. I also don’t see another compliance buyout coming by the next CBA. I don’t think there would be very many players in need of it. The owners are going to know exactly who’s going to need it and by then I think the list of teams will be relatively short |

Wut. There are players on every team that could use a compliance buyout. There are poop contracts everywhere. |

Like I said, they don’t intend on ending the current CBA early so there are two seasons left after this one. What are the odds that Zaitsev is still a leaf by then? My guess is not good and he’s still young and has time to rebound. So who does that leave by then? Seabrook, Lucic, use it on one year of Luongo? Lol. I don’t see it happening with Weber either. The cap keeps going up and up. Either Sportsnet or TSN just did an article on how he’s training so stay effective into his 40’s like Chara. Do the wild use one on Parise or Suter? Kinda tough to say at this point. I don’t see the Kings needing one at that point either seeing as how all those older contracts will only have a year or two (Brown, who’s already rebounded) left. So teams that would really need it include Edmonton, Chicago, and maybe the Wild? And all of the owners are going to jump on that train? Also, all of those contracts are old except for Lucic. GMs have done a better job since then and the league has capped contract lengths
So, it’s not a trick question, if they’re discussing it now what percentage of teams in the league are hugely lobbying for compliance buyouts 2+ seasons out? 10%? |

That Duchene goal is all JJ. Petterson's thinking standard 2v2 and doesn't have time to recover when he realizes someone chained JJ's skates to the blue line. |
|
|
|
And 2 seasons of JJ, IF he’s even still in Pitt. Sorry to say it but it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s in the minors on some other team at that point and they just straight up buy out his last season or eat it |
|
|
|
Last time 18 compliance buyouts were used but one reason why a second buyout per team was allowed was because they didn’t raise the cap the one shortened season. Some of the buyouts are of lengths that don’t exist anymore like Ehrhoff and Redden. Others looked like teams using them because it gained them a small advantage, but not a huge necessity to continue to thrive.
With the league continuously getting younger and more young, talented hockey players coming up all the time the league will continue to get deeper and deeper. More and more players will be signing for less money and attending tryouts on PTOs. In a few years there might be so much more depth that guys like JJ that’re maybe 33 wont be able to get a contract. Maybe it won’t happen by the next CBA, but it’s coming. Just too many damn good hockey players and these playoff races will continue to get tighter and tighter |

I still wouldn't rule out Ferland. JR won't be able to control himself. He lives to wheel and deal. - madmike71
Is he worth Hallander?
GMJR seemingly avoids trading for rentals....but Ferland seems like a great fit. I just dont know what trading capital we have at this point if we want to keep our 1st. |

I fail to see what makes him a good fit because I don’t feel like this team has an identity so it makes it difficult to really see any kind of “fit.” I just see a hodge podge of players thrown together. |

saw a good quote... GMJR has a really good strategy getting younger, cost controlled, high upside assets...but is he betting on the right players?
Pearson has been pretty invisible no? |

I was actually going to comment on this earlier. It's going to be the "Hagelin Defense," but despite him going dry in production, I really love the game he brings. |

Why would you assume MaCann and Sheahan are a wash?
The only thing of real consequence in that whole list relating to their window and win now IMO is Cole.
If they had Cole instead of JJ they'd be so much stronger. |

I don't think Pearson has been invisible. Wouldn't mind a bit more production but he uses his size good, makes good plays and is pretty good defensively without puck. He also had Brass as his C for long periods. |

Pens don't have alot of cap room so players that can play in top 9 for cheap are very important.
Simon was one of the best players on the ice last night. For what he brings at his low price I beleive him to be valuable to the Pens. |
