Peter Tessier: Connor strikes and Torts Erupts
Connor plays hero again as Jets come back and win 4-3 with just over a minute to spare. - Peter.Tessier
Connor is already a complete player. Outstanding in all aspects that I have seen. No reason to doubt him. Hopefully he signs a 6x6 deal, but I fear the guy could be pushing his value north of Nylanders. Either way he will get paid less than Laine which makes little to no sense. Laine is on pace for 54 points, and hopefully his signing value has plummeted. |

Did the Jackets find some seems in the Jets defense system and exploit it?
Hello, grammar police here, it "seems" that you misspelled "seams". |

so alot of reports out on Twitter today that have confirmed Chevy is trying to shop (give away) Petan. this makes me sad, I know we all dont agree on here about the exact level of chance he was given but im definetly on the side of the fence that says he wasnt and that his ceiling is higher than Lemieux's and Appleton's and i hope he gets a chance somewhere else to prove this. |

I hate to see Petan go but where do you put him? He is small as a centre and would take a beating on the wing come playoffs. He also lacks puck luck in the NHL. Appleton, Roslovic and even Lemieux have done more with their limited ice time point wise.
It's unfortunate because he can be an exciting player.

Listen, I love Connor as much as anyone. I created a moniker for the guy that was later acknowledged by the Jets, and I’m still giddy over it.
Kyle Connor is offence only, at this stage. He doesn’t drive the play at all, and he’s very ungood defensively. Ehlers deal, or lower. Or bridge. |

I agree Ross. Sometimes you can be a decent player but the hockey gods hand you a raspberry. I watched Petan and his tremendous success in Portland and figured at the time he would be an NHL success. Unfortunately, WHL and NHL are two different leagues. Petan was never a fit for the open roles on the Jets roster. Bigger, faster, tougher seem to take precedence and both Lemieux and Appleton fit those roles. There was no way Petan was making the Jets top two lines. He can probably make half a dozen rosters in the NHL , just not one on a top team like the Jets. I wish him well. Had he been drafted by a rebuilding team he would have had more success. His big knocks are he's a tad slow , gets outmuscled, and not great defensively. Its interesting that Maurice yesterday finally addressed his views on Dano as well....."Can't skate and lacks offence" . He was much more complimentary about Petan. Yes , this kid deserves a break.
BTW...The Jets fourth line, the ACL line, is being called the best 4th line in the league based on all sorts of metrics. Its hard to argue about the fourth line and its players when it's getting such praise as a unit.
EDIT: Roslovic may not play tonight ( cramps) so Petan might finally get the nod. |

Petan/Rattie/Leipsic - 350 combined points in one season for Portland.
Less than 100 points (career) between the 3 of them in the NHL.

Petan has had better NHL numbers than Connor and Roslovic, if we’re going by rate, which we are because we’re educated.
Additionally, the LCA 4th line is constantly being massacred in all 3 zones. They’re getting incredibly lucky, and Copp is doing his utter best to cover for both |

I assume this is just another fake news statement by Rexy. I don't even have to look to know your not even close to being correct. Rate = either points per minute or points per 60 min . ( P/60). Impossible that Connor is not at least double the rate of Petan. Roslovic would be better than Petan as well.
Edit: So I found the numbers. Yep , fake news.
Roslovic :
2017-18 P/60 = 2.20
2018-19 . P/60 = 1.59
Connor :
2016-17 . p/60= 1.23
2017-18 P/60 = 2.66
2018-19 . P/60 = 2.50
Petan:
2016-17 . p/60= 1.33
2017-18 P/60 = 0.95
2018-19 . P/60 = 1.28
We will now all get ready for your latest excuse.

Hmmm. The WFP just published an article today on that subject which was backed by the stats for Corsica.Hockey. Jets fourth line is tops in the league. The eye test says the same, they've been very good. Maurice has also been praising them as such.
If you think they are being " constantly massacred in all 3 zones " then I'd hate to see what all the other NHL team's more inferior 4th lines in the league look like.

Yep, HNIC was just gushing about Wpg 4th line. Glad you took the time to find actual stats and post them debunking Rexy's fake stats.
