I’m tired of people not giving Johnson a real chance. He’s only half way through his first season. Give him a chance to settle in. |

The Blues missed the playoffs the year they traded Stastny. Schenn is available but he won't come cheap. |

I believe the reason he's pointing it out is the Pens could have signed a similar player for much less money giving them more cap flexibility to make a bigger move at the trade deadline.
Wilson has been pretty terrible this year as a blogger, but I have to think any team that signed Johnson would have had the same amount of whining lol |

It's funny, the last few years I thought you guys were overrated by so many people and overachieved, but this year I actually picked you guys fighting for top three in the division. On paper I thought you guys finally had the the all-around depth you were lacking to deeper in the playoffs.
Shows how much I know |

So, by these calculations, teams looking to acquire Schenn should see a player just not getting the bounces per se, so they should take advantage of the Blues and "buy-low". But if other teams can pick up on it, but why wouldn't the Blues? That's flawed logic. It's not like other teams can see something St. Louis doesn't.

At this point it's looking like pens might just have to hold onto brassy and hope he lights up it in the last third and playoffs |

There's no way teams are apprehensive about adding a guy like him at his price. I think plenty of teams realize it's more of a "team fit" issue. I have to wonder if the reason Rutherford hasn't moved Brass yet is not so much that he can't, but maybe he's more concerned about replacing him. |

Never underestimate the ability of teams to misuse a player, but overall I agree with your sentiment.
I don't think Schenn will come cheap, nor should he. He should be able to garner very solid futures from any current contender who'd look to pick him up. |

I still think Bozak is a great fit for the Pens. If the Pens could offer a package where STL retained around 25% I would do it. |

I just don't like that guy. I hope they go in another direction. I don't want to see the Pens empty what little assets we have. Trade picks....sure.
If we're trading prospects, get a decent RHD. Trade Brass for a pick or middle 6 wing. Let Sheahan take the 3C spot. |

Pens are done d-hunting. I gave up on that dream a while ago lol

It depends what the Blues are looking for. Yes another team can offer more in futures, but the Pens could be the only team giving them a 2C back. For example, if the trade were Brassard + 1st (for example), I think that's more appealing than another team giving up a 1st and a prospect or something...
I'm also a big believer that Brassard, for whatever reason, is a poor fit here. Once he plays for his next team he will be back to 2C, two-way, pain in the ass to play against, big game Brass. |

As Wilson pointed out, teams aren't so excited about late 1st round picks. As it stands right now, it's more than possible the Pens make the playoffs while still picking the middle of the 1st round.
All this said, the Pens would need to sweeten the pot. Brass + 1st is basically just a first because you have no idea if he'd re-sign there. It would probably take Bras, a 1st and one of Addison, Hallander or Borqvist. I like Schenn, but personally I think that's too much for the Pens do give. |

I dont think he's worth $5M. And paying a premium for salary retention can bite you in the ass. But there's definitely a lot of value in knowing he has great chemistry with Phil. |

Sending a 1st for any player at the deadline can bite you in the ass. Bozak is having a solid year. His production has dipped, but looking at his some of his underlying stats he's still playing well.

Ive been talking about Schenn for 3C for a while...get it done* GMJR
*I see no way of him getting this done without losing someone of importance which in turn could negatively impact the team overall... |

All depends on the competence of a team's GM, really. |
