Yea, we are currently 8 points in playoff spot. And I dont see us not making the playoffs..
Also, the players you're talking about play on teams that heavily rely on one line.. compare the players on Tampa who have the same forward depth as we do and you won't notice a difference.
Your argument sucks dude.. - LeafGuy89
We play the 4th line in the 3rd period when we are down a goal... We are not utlizing our centres like we should.
Matthews TOI suck and always have. This is the 1st season of his career over 18 minutes TOI, and it's barely over 18 minutes.
You mentioned Tampa, well Point has played more than Matthews each of the past 2 seasons. It was 2 minutes more per game last season in fact. |

Stamkos 18:06 minutes per game
Matthews 18:06 minutes per game.
It's obvious Tampa relies heavily on Stamkos |

when comparing Ice time between players like Matthews and Barkov its better if you break it down by 5v5/PP/PK to see where the time diff is
its mostly PK, but the Leafs are also getting less PP time. so that matters.
But rolling lines and limiting ice time is fine with me until you get the playoffs |

Assuming Price keeps playing at this level. It would be a better series to watch then going against Boston again.
(Cause UG will be re-instated just in time for the Leafs-Bruins series) |

The concern is, last Spring, Babcock still did not play his top players nearly as much as Boston did. In fact, we had a guy who looked great on the 4th line keep getting breakaways and barely played him in the 7 games(Kapanen).
When you play your best players 25-30% less than other teams, you are giving them an advantage. |

I really hope that happens. Although the Habs speed and attack worries me a bit.
but it sure would be fun

With Babcock, you earn your ice time. Matthews, for all of his scoring prowess, is not scoring. The whole idea of making the playoffs hinges on who you play in the first round. Leafs seem to lose late in playoff rounds, so getting home ice is imperative. Boston is a nemesis team for us, so maybe playing the Habs or Tampa is a better matchup. At least we get the Habs a couple of more times and we may be able to control who we play, as long as we can hold on to second place, in the Atlantic. |

The Habs speed compared to the Leafs worries you? Dont worry, that would easily be the best matchup for the Leafs. |

Leafs would be heavy favorites.... but if Price keeps playing the way he has since Weber came back.... he'll give us a chance to win.
I don't see any matchup as entertaining as this one. |

What's your explanation for the rest of his career before this slump? He was on a 45 goal, 85 point pace last season and had crappy TOI. When he was on fire early on, he still didn't play that much.
Is Patrick Marleau earning his TOI? Or is he just a veteran Babcock likes? |

Carolina has some good D to choose from. Slavin would be my choice, but I doubt they move him. |

Hope they trade Ferland too. Then they can have received nothing in return for two of their highest picks of the past decade! |

Carolina's owner decided to only offer 400K for their Gm. He got his money's worth. |

I don't care how much Bingo tries to defend this.
Lindholm and Hanifin are doing great in Calgary... it was a bad trade for the Canes. |

He's been outstanding since he got healthy. Started slow but he has 5 goals, 9 points in his last 12 games and is a +8
Canes have scored 7 goals in their last two games. Dougie's been on the ice for 6 of them. |
