I laughed when I saw that the Toronto Star had an article stating the Islanders are "contenders" when all we hear from the MSM is that Toronto isn't ready yet.
- gravyface

Leafs faults are so overhyped. No team is perfect in a cap world.
If the Leafs' D was anywhere close to as bad as we hear, the GA would show it. It does not.

Willie got 3 assists but he didn't even score

whattabum

Also where are all those people who were super excited about Rielly? Well I got news for you, he's come back down to earth and barely has over a point a game.

- TheMussel

And he's still the best in the league.

I hate the long lay off though. No game until a week Friday means the schedule will probably be condensed as hell for the remainder of the season.
- gravyface

Yeah for sure, the Leafs have 15 games in 28 days during February.

I've tried to watch some of their games.. Laine is not even close to Matthews talent. I think we can finally say that Matthews is better than Laine

He is great on the Power play..

No team is perfect, but I laugh at hearing the Leafs aren't good enough when just last season, an expansion team got to the finals.
We saw last night, we have a guy who's a 3rd line C that can be 1st line C on a lot of teams.

And Nylander will look great soon.

- RogerRoeper

Ok slow down. Kadri had a great night, but hes no 1st line center on any good team.
The leafs beat up on shaky goaltending and a team in a rut.
Now they need be consistent and build off of this, the past 20 games theyve up then, down, down, up, down, down.
Theyre not as good as their best game and not as bad as their worse.

The Leafs have had bottom 10 save % since December 6th...

Andersen seems to get more credit than any goalie for this. His #'s are good, but not elite.

And the coach is the only one who doesn't notice. Marleau needs to go. He's lost a massive step since last season. And he gets so much TOI considering.

I am sick of hearing about what Nylander makes. Marleau is a bigger problem and makes 6.3 million.
Nylander is getting better. He's 22 and starting to catch-up on the time he missed. Marleau is 39. It's over.

- RogerRoeper

Marleau just needs a little vacation, and luckily, he now has time off during the all-star break.

He needs to relax. Maybe go on holiday. To Europe.

Maybe take a private flight from Nantes to Cardiff.

Too soon?

No.
Kadri is good 2nd liner center and a great 3rd.
Hed be on our 2nd for sure if it wasn't for JT.
But not a #1

Andersen has been injured.
He was one the best goalies in October and november. The two months the leafs had their best record.

Why is the Leafs GA lower than Tampa the past 2 years? That's Andersen?
Tampa has a pretty darn elite goalie themselves.

Leafs D actually gives a very low amount of "High Danger" shots. Andersen is facing a lot of easy saves.

The only team in a playoff spot he could be a #1 center right now would probably be Montreal.

But would easily be a #2 on a majority of the teams.

What the frank has Lou done, exactly?

He brought in Komarov and Martin.

This is still very much Snow's team.

Love how a 7m per player gets a couple of assist and finally backchecks and people start creaming their little briefs.

It was his best game so far, good to see.
Can he at least repeat the effort, we'll see.
Im hopeful, cause leafs cant have an inconsistent 7m per player.

- Fakepartofme

He does this quite a bit, actually. I know Max is blind when it comes to Bill Ny, but man, lots of people seem to ignore it, too.
