Any reports on Entwistle or Wise?
- tvetter

Recent article about Entwistle:

https://www.secondcityhoc...l-guelph-storm-trade-2019

Entwistle could be in Rockford as early as this spring after the OHL season is over; highly likely a Hog next season either way.

Not much news on Wise after he ended his freshman season early with an injury. Only 2 points in something like 12 games. Despite the low offensive output and injury-shortened season, Wise has still been praised as a high-end prospect due to his skill, compete level, and skating. My guess is he stays at Boston U. through his junior year, then sign an ELC after then.

Possible projections at the NHL level: Entwistle as a bottom 6 forward (3C if he hits his potential) and Wise as a middle 6 forward (2C if he hits his potential).

You know what -

Bowman the last two three seasons or so has done a good job identifying and drafting/signing/trading for prospects. These two players (Wise, Entwhistle) is a good example.

Bowman had the right idea about Edjsell too....if a guy can score and is really talented.....but Edjsell is too slow, doesn't use his body effectively in checking and basically if not scoring or making great passes....he is invisible. Lacks the quickness so that is the kicker right there. Bowman salivating over a big size center with scoring prowess from Nashville trade but the draft choice from that trade - Beaudin - is the player we can be thankful to land.

Blackhawks will improve through good drafting and development of talented players. Not too much via trades.

- jhawk59

Kurashev was also drafted with one of the picks that came back in the Hartman trade. Takes the edge off of Ejdsell not showing much and possibly being a flop. Sure, Beaudin and Kurashev could never make it to the NHL as well but I like their chances in relation to Ejdsell.

Kubalík will finish the season with HC Ambrì Piotta of the National League in Switzerland, per the Blackhawk press release.

The earliest he could play is after the Swiss league regular season ends, which is in early March. No idea how long the playoffs go, or if his team will qualify.

Of course, there’s also the minor inconvenience of signing a contract. Since the Blackhawk season will likely end on April 6th, the most likely time for him to play for the Blackhawks would be next season’s first exhibition game.

FWIW, the answers to all of life’s questions can be answered with a quick google search.

There has been a suggestion that Bowman is safe for the summer but could be let go sometime in the fall or later. He is being watched closely almost like being graded. Bowman needs to make wise decisons with players coming and going, eg Gus.

It is through the draft primarily and what he does to replace key players he moved (Panarin). That is what Rocky should be looking at.

Rocky should be looking at bowman and if he build a contender not just a regular season team but a playoff team that can go far. Needs to add some physical players with speed and skill and scoring hard to find yes but that is what is needed in the playoffs to win. This something he has neglected for long time.

Didn't Wise miss time last season due to injury? I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

Absolutely agree with this. If I was the gm I would be looking at the assets currently in the hawks system and projecting who would be viable at the 2021-2022 or 2022-2024 seasons. I believe the moves made now and the next two years should be made to put the best product on the starting at 2021.

I don’t see the hawks doing anything this year that isn’t going to make them anything other than a marginally better team in 2019-2020. My fear would they do something short term that hurts the 3 years out. Not saying they shouldn’t do anything, such that if they see Stone being the type of player they need in three years, get him now because he probably will be locked up when you need him if you don’t take him now.

You are correct that the hawks are only going to be able to use free agents to plug key hole or add the missing piece. How they draft and build from within - plus what youth they’ve added over the last several years — will be the core they need to be winning with in the future.

Your opinion is respected. However Stan doesn't have 2 or 3 years left to change the dynamics of this team around from thr nhl level to the ahl depth. Getting rolled in 4 games then making a huge change with personnel only to follow up the following season with missing the playoffs and having a failed offseason in free agency , then 1 month into the season a hall of fame coach who brought this team 3 cups gets AXED and to Ben in dead last while missing the playoffs again doesnt allow stan the opportunity .

anything he does can not be evaluated until 30-40 games in next season...

he has a 10 year body work including the last 4 which have not produced much of anything in terms of winning or player development...

"When the Hawks visited Columbus, Ohio, in October, Panarin sent Kane a cryptic text the night before the game, asking him to meet up. After about a half-hour of chatting, Panarin pulled out a box with ‘‘a pretty nice watch’’ in it to thank Kane for helping him hit contract incentives with the Hawks."

stan has had some terrible deals. But this season he has been good.

out Rutta, manning Nicj S and Schmaltz 5th.
in CAGG, Strome, perlini, Koekkoek (who has been better then I thought the last 2 games) Doninik K. plus 4 mil in cap saving for this off season.

no idea how we are going to improve our d.
But a top 6 of CAT, KANE, Teows, Strome, UFA, Draft/SAAD, and then a bottom 6 of Perlini, Cagg, kahun, kampf, kabliak, and possible hayden Sikura,

is that good enough to cmpete I think so.

But some good possibilities for the future.

Strome, Jokiharju, Murphy, DeBrincat, Delia on the parent club.

Boqvist, Mitchell, Barrett, Beaudin, one or two others I may have on one farm or another.

While I do keep wondering how this group of young players compares to those of other teams, and only DeBrincat has proven much so far, there is some potential in the system.

While Stan certainly deserve criticism for a lot of his moves / non-moves - the cupboard isn’t completely boneless.

he looks like he has NHL speed and good length and in a long highlight video he has a really big shot. the conversion chart from his league to the NHL is .51 and he is at 1.16 PG. that would put him 45 + points.

I have a feeling and its being reported that Chicago plans on making a lot of trades prior to the deadline.

Saad ,Hayden , Kunitz, anismov, Kruger, Keith, Seabrook , Gustafson all those names have been mentioned and IMO saad anismov and Keith will most likely be moved to clear a roster spot and cap space while building depth.

At some point he went for a player to be named, which turned out to be himself.

Has that ever happened in any sport? That would be amazing.... and probably spark an investigation into collusion. But I want someone to be traded for themselves.

Trades like this are why judgement should wait. Gut reaction was a crappy trade, right. But it could end up being an absolute steal if these guys make an impact. All that for Hartman, who has proved that he really isn't more than a bottom 6, rough F.

But now we can have both

If Panarin signs in Chicago. The Columbus trade was Panarin, Saad, Forsberg and a 5th round pick for Tyler Motte and a 6th round pick? lol

Would that make Stan the smartest GM? Bringing back an 80 pt player while also having the 50 point player?

And 50 point player is a dud? Saad was never going to be, or expected to be an 80 point player. He has the potential to crack 60, but was expected to be in the 50's. It's the 200 ft game he brings, the need for a top end PK with Hossa gone. I really do get confused when people only look at points.
