I think it was 2 games ago (?) in an interview with Ridder that he preferred more shots than less because it made him feel more apart of the game and readier for shots. 1 shot every ten minutes and you feel more like a fan watching than a goaltender playing. He could have ordered beers between shots on goal in the third.

Maybe he did, I know I would have at that SOG pace lol.

But I am an Irish Albertan, so any free time is an excuse for squeezing in a beer..

Nope, still a pretty good showing. For the last 40 minutes or so, anyway.

I agree on Kylington - great effort - he spent most of the night covering for ol' Stout Prout's cement feet. It's funny the underlying numbers might have been better with Czarnik, but I feel like Janko and Bennett have more chemistry with Neal. Weird, I know. It's like the 3rd line didn't pass the eye test for some reason. Did anyone else feel that way?

Whoa - Niederreiter traded for Rask today.

Not sure what the Wild were thinking on this one...

Rittich has been having a bunch of off nights recently. The team can score at will though, so it hasn't really mattered what's going on in behind them.

Yeah, his stats haven't been great, and there have been a couple of off games here and there, but he's generally beat by what I would call a "good" goal. Felt less so last night, I think the Eichel goal is one he'd like to have back, and the one off Frolik's stick was shot/deflected from far enough out that I thought he'd have that one as well, but the screen (on their 3rd) was a good one with no help from the D and the breakaway goal was full marks to Rodrigues.

It's a long season and he's bound to have some ups and downs. How he responds is what's important. Back to back games coming up, I'm sure Smith will get a game, probably tomorrow ? Have to keep in mind Rittich came into the season expecting to be a backup so I think they should be careful not to expect too much from him...
