It was a pretty good game. There was a patch of about 5 minutes in the second where they played like dog poop, but things settled down after.
The thing I’ve noticed about Smith is he doesn’t seem to be tracking the puck very well. Maybe his eye sight isn’t very good, but he doesn’t seem to have a clue where the rebounds are half the time. He over reacts a lot of the time on saves.
Just nitpicking, he did fine last night.

Was noticing that Tkachuk didnt even go to congratulate Smith on the win let alone the hugging ritual with BSD. I wonder if there is something going on behind the scenes & Uncle Mike is a miserable SOB in that locker room about losing his #1 status.

Getting Stone and Valimacki back will shore up the D enough in my opinion. I don't think we should mess much with the chemistry on this team.

Yup I agree! The only thing I would really want is we need some big guy that can actually play minutes to deal with the likes of Reaves & Big Buff come playoff time. Dont care what anyone says, those guys mike a difference in the playoffs.

I would send possibly Czarnik to Oilers for Kassian, I know he's a psycho, but he could be a real useful player come playoffs.

I dont think Carolina would trade him back to us for very cheap, they would probably want Lindholm back

I wouldn't do anything on D either, Im just going off the rumours that we are looking for another left handed d man. i agree that we could use a bigger body guy come playoffs

There is a "soft rumor" going around that Stone "may" be done as the blood clots in the arm are actually more serious than first thought. With that said, we still have Valamaki so the D would only probably need someone a little more dependable than Prout

Think we will be looking at mostly depth moves like you suggest. Wouldn't say no to any of these names:

Maroon
Ferland (more than depth move)
Ritchie (gimme either one really)
Simmonds (more than depth move)

Mobile D (not a big Kronwall guy at this stage of his career)

I have heard that as well. Francis addressed the rumour in one of the intermissions last night, he had spoken with Stone and it sounds like this week is really important as far as his future goes. Hopefully he gets cleared and we see him back after the all star break.

Well I can't be sure, but maybe because Czarnik is younger, cheaper and more skilled overall.
