It’s not surprising whatsoever. We all figured fletcher was hired as a puppet for Scott. Well there goes our 1st rounder. You know Ottawa wants in on the first round. - Just5
he hopefully isn't dumb enough to move next Junes 1rst round pick unless its top 10 protected...then I would move it. Stone is a stud.

Yeah you keep minoring in lame sarcasm, but the fact your whole argument is based off 9 points in 13 games and that proves he plays great says it all. Obviously the Flyers need to trade Giroux because JvR is what makes this team tick. - Glak18
For $7M this man better be scoring 30 goals a year. He has not played up to his contract but has looked better in recent games. He's never going to drive play or carry the puck through the neutral zone much so if he's not scoring it's tough to watch. That's the bottom line. |

If, and I know it’s a big if, what Ek said is true then this organization really is a laughing stock. |

The good thing is if we deal now we can send Simmonds to Ottawa....who may have future plans for Simmonds as a leader of a young team or they can easily flip him for picks. It just better NOT include our 1st this year.
To Ott: Simmonds, Farabee, 2020 1st, Elliot
To Phi: Stone, Anderson
OR we flip Simmonds now for a 1st and use it in a Stone package ourselves. Fine with that. They are not touching our 2019 1st - Just5
that's do able.

That's a lot. Anderson is a throw in, I wouldn't trade Elliott for him straight up.
So you are basically trading 2 1st and the value of Simmonds (1st? 1st and 2nd?) for a UFA Stone. Hopefully that means a cap friendly signed Stone for that price. |

Anderson/Elliott is a wash. That’s what it will take I believe. They won’t make this trade if Stone isn’t agreeing to an immediate deal. Yea it’s going to take this. Stone is that good. Maybe sens throw us a B prospect or a 3rd |

Perhaps we are getting a glimpse of Dave Scott’s solid business acumen. Does he know how the points system works in the NHL?
I hope he isn’t a gambler. Oh it’s a 1% chance to hit my card on the river? Better push all in! |

Being a buyer doesn't have to be for this year, not sure why people don't get that. Stone makes our team better now and in the future, in this example. I could see a scenario of us getting Stone and also selling a few pieces like Simmer and Raffl. |

Stone will require the selling of a key asset not named Simmonds or Raffl. No thanks |

I think 7.5 or 8 for 7-8 years.... It might mean somebody high priced on the way out.

How was he playing when he tipped it? Forget the result. - mickel25
Typical JvR. He made a few play last night but in the first period he made about 4 bad plays with the puck leading to turnovers. He was however more involved offensively than he has been. |

I'd rather offer him 10m per in the offseason than give up 3 1st rounders+

I love Stone and would like to acquire him but that is basically giving up Simmonds, Farabee and a 1st round pick for Stone. Too rich for my blood. |

what if It's Jake Vorecek going the other way as a major piece?? Jake will make 9.2 mil next year....then he averages only 6.9 his last 4 years of the deal. Ottawa needs to get to the cap floor and jakes contract was a tad front end loaded (8.25 on cap hit). Ottawa cant sign both Stone and Duschene...the owner does not have enough upfront signing bonus $ that these two guys are going to want...not even close.
It solves a problem for both teams. Ottawa doesn't have to pay up front...they get a solid return of Vorecek plus. Flyers get a stud player and change the core while not cost very much $ unless the deal to Ottawa includes cash. |

Last night a clear replay showed that JvR definitely deflected the puck. It was puck luck that it went in but he definitely got a piece of it. - MJL
puck luck for sure but he was where he needs to be, faced the direction he should, looking for that tip chance. |

depends on the players and picks. Andersson would be a nice mentor for Hart...why the hate? he's still pretty good.

I think if EKs deal has any truth it 100% has to include Voracek. Simmonds has a NMC; would he really waive it for OTT? Anyways if that’s the case, then we can move Simmonds to another team in a separate trade. |
