JVR is averaging 16:08 per game since Gordon took over, and has 9 points in 13 games, same as Giroux. He also has the best +/- out of all Flyer forwards in that period. - Feanor
Yeah its so weird how when you look at a basic stat line then compare the player to how they actually played for the full 60 minutes and realize things don't add up.
The first period for him was really bad, I mean really bad with the turnovers and bad plays.
Then you look at how he actually got his points..
Assist: A blind whip around pass in the slot to TK for the deflection. Ok if you want to assume he actually knew what he was doing the whole time I will give you that. I mean he has done the same play a dozen times this season with no goal scored and the puck turned over, but this time is different because it ended up as a goal. Not to mention you can actually see him blindly whip the puck around THEN look to see if someone was there.
Goal: He taps his stick for the puck, Giroux feeds the puck through the crease, the assumption is JvR's stick touched the puck even though I can't see a change of direction which has the puck missing the net by feet, but luckily a defenseman is there to have his skate in the way. Ok let's assume he meant to deflect the puck to ricochet off the skate of the defenseman and have it go in the net, awesome goal.
Correction: I looked again and saw the puck just goes through JvR's legs, it was Khudobin who did the work when he kicked the puck out to have it ricochet off the skate to go in net. So I will assume JvR farted which caused the play to happen.
Now you have the 3rd period where he had a couple more cough ups of the puck that led to chances for Dallas. Then look at all the chances the Flyers had to put the game away...notice JvR is involved in NONE of them.
But hey 2 points....boxscore > gameplay |

Haha. How does trading Jake and Wayne for Panarin help the Flyers or Columbus? - opeth_pa
If they had permission to talk to Panarin and could get him signed it helps Philly in the goal scoring department for sure. I do not think Simmer is resigning here so he is a small bargaining chip to get Columbus to move Panarin. He would be great here and would more than make up for Jake's point production and -18 even strength capacity

They are going to have to. There is no way I see them keeping him after Marner and Matthews are signed. 70% of their cap is already taken up for next season with just 11 players signed. Matthews, Marner and Kapanen are RFAs as well as a bunch of others. Gardiner is a UFA as well - xShoot4WarAmpsx
I wouldn't mind taking Kadri off there hands. He has three more years after this year at $4.5mil per. He is 28 and a 30 goal scorer who might be the odd man out at center. |

Would Kadri really help the Flyers though? I mean on pace for 17 goals on one the highest scoring teams this year and is -3. I'm assuming you would send them Couturier so they keep their center depth? |

I actually thought it would be Giroux going the other way. |

Yea but he is playing behind Matthews and Tavares. His Ice time has likely dropped. Also doesnt have much to work with atm. Nylander has been poop and Marleau is spent |

That's a possibility too. Obviously they don't want a UFA that weakens their playoff push unless it is added on top of what they have or they don't want prospects or picks... |

There's an unreasonable amount of angst about the free agent Hextall acquired because of the Flyers' gaping hole at LW. He's producing as well as you could expect given his lack of PP1 time. With Giroux back at center, the hole would be extra gaping without JVR. |

Fairly safe to say if any of the other 6 stiffs we had were in net, the winless streak continues.
Flyers should work on those odd man rushes in practice.
Patrick's best game of this season. Hoping he builds off it. Same with the dyke. |

How is this different when he played with Teh Bozak and JvR? Do you think he is getting less ice time with JT there? |

G played 82 games at LW. Behind him were Raffl,Weal, Lehtera and eventually Lindblom who combined for 57 points in 230 games. |

I still expect the price to be a conditional 1st and a conditional 2nd (the condition on the first-rounder being how far team goes in playoffs, the condition on the 2nd rounder being whether he re-signs with that team). That is, unless there is a bidding war among teams he'd be willing to go to under his partial no-trade. Then the price goes up.
One thing that works in Flyers favor here, though, is that his cap hit on his current deal is very team-friendly. - bmeltzer
Huuuge huuuge factor. Flyers will be well compensated

Kadri has scored 20 EVG the past two seasons. That's great production. He is playing with the third set of wingers this year. That's probably why production is down. Get him on the Flyers between JVR and Voracek and I bet his production goes back up. |

Sooooooo...basically no one, but better production. Gotcha.
See when you give credit to a player for strengthening a team, the results shouldn't go backwards.
But 9 points in 12 games.....

The LW production behind Giroux wasn't better last year. It was terrible. |

If he scored 9 points every 12 games that would be 62 points over 82 games. That's what was expected of him.

The production of the top guys (G, C, Jake, Simmonds and Ghost) is down this year because of PP1 struggling so much. Which certainly isn't JVR's fault; he's barely played on that unit. |
