Its never going to happen but could you imagine next year:

JVR-Giroux-Tarasenko
Panarin-Couturier-Konecny
Farabee-Patrick-Frost
Lindblom-Laughton-ABK

Provorov-Sanheim
Gudas-Ghost
Morin/Hagg-Myers

Hart
????

- youarewrong

That would be awesome. They COULD definitely make a deal for Tarasenko and Panarin, but they'd be have to give up a lot of assets and cap space. Only thing that is almost 100% not gonna happen is Farabee. But the rest is a definite possibility.

If Fletcher can get something like an unprotected 1st, a B+ prospect, and a second rounder, I'd be pretty okay with that.
- jmatchett383

I would be giddy if we get a first from anyone. Bill has mentioned multiple times it's a buyer's market and we might only get a 2nd which conditionally becomes a 1st if they make it so far in playoffs or another condition on re signing.

Has Farabee committed to next year in college? He looked amazing in WJC. Even if not, bump Lindblom onto Patrick's line, and resign Raffl for 4th line.

instant cup contender...lol maybe.

So JVR didn't actually play on the 4th line and actually had the 2nd most 5on5 ice time out of Flyer forwards.

Shocking.

Or what if your able to sign Duchene and Panarin in the Summer?

JVR-Duchene-Giroux
Panarin-Couturier-Konecny
Lindblom-Patrick-Frost
Raffl-Laughton-ABK

Provorov-Sanheim
Gudas-Ghost
Morin/Hagg-Myers

Hart
Howard

And maybe Hughes/Kakko

Not bad for a 4th liner who regretted signing here.

Imagine that, you play well and get rewarded with ice time, regardless of your line label.

Folin got crushed like a paper cup last night, and Gordon was forced into limiting his 5on5 ice time below 10 minutes. Fletcher deserves a lot of credit for having faith in Hart at age 20, but the lack of Phil Myers (who turns 22 in 2 weeks) on this roster just gets more bizarre with each passing day.

Amac has been skating with the team and began practicing and is now day 2 day. Really no reason for Myers to come up for 1 or 2 games.

If they could do that, even if they had to include a second, I'd be cool with it. I don't think it will happen, since TML probably doesn't want to fill one hole by creating another, but sure.

I know this horse has been beaten to a pulp. But I have a question for Bill or whom ever. Lebrun wrote an article in the Athletic today about Simmonds and Ferland as power forward rentals...The asking price for Ferland was a 1rst and a prospect and he expected Simmonds if made available to fetch more then that...He listed 4-5 teams that would have interest.... Perhaps we have under estimated his value?
- landros 2

I still expect the price to be a conditional 1st and a conditional 2nd (the condition on the first-rounder being how far team goes in playoffs, the condition on the 2nd rounder being whether he re-signs with that team). That is, unless there is a bidding war among teams he'd be willing to go to under his partial no-trade. Then the price goes up.

One thing that works in Flyers favor here, though, is that his cap hit on his current deal is very team-friendly.

And they can retain 50% if a team is really up against the cap.

JVR is averaging 16:08 per game since Gordon took over, and has 9 points in 13 games, same as Giroux. He also has the best +/- out of all Flyer forwards in that period.

It would be nice but Dreger or someone from TSN said Dubas does not want to part with Kapanen. We'll see. Simmer would benefit greatly from playing with the Leafs. I don't know their line combos or their plans for Simmer, but just imagine him on the wing of Travarese or Matthews. Just go to the front of the net, Wayne!!

He's still one-dimensional and not really doing a good job in that one dimension. He's got a whopping two goals and one assist in his last five games.

They are going to have to. There is no way I see them keeping him after Marner and Matthews are signed. 70% of their cap is already taken up for next season with just 11 players signed. Matthews, Marner and Kapanen are RFAs as well as a bunch of others. Gardiner is a UFA as well

Honestly, I think they'd look to trade Nylander for defensive help before they move Kapanen.
