I'm here in beautiful British Columbia and what perfect timing as it's the setting for the 2019 WJHC.
The Blackhawks have 7 players involved in this year's tournament which ties them for 1st amongst NHL teams for the most. They would have led the way with 8 had Niklas Nordgren not suffered a concussion.

Great piece, JL. I'm excited for all our prospects. I'm glad they're looking good/finding the scoresheet. 14-0, good lord!
With the hawks taking a L before they're break, I think they find the W column tonight. Good news for us that Dumba(ss) is out. Dubnyk always plays well against us. I'm glad Delia is getting the start. I'd like to see him play more, but I'm not sure he'll get the WC start against the Bruins. I think that's going to Ward the vet. |

JL, I didn't catch any of the games yesterday because of work, so I appreciate the breakdown from you as well as the other posters.
I do completely agree with you about Keith. I get that he's a fierce competitor, but he's also paid to perform. If he does want out, it would easier to trade him if the other team didn't think he was done. |

Blackhawks lines
Saad-Toews-Kahun
Anisimov-Strome-Kane
DeBrincat-Kampf-Perlini
Hayden-Nilsson-Sikura
Interesting that Sikura bumped down. Cat not getting a lot of offensive help on his line...

Keith is saving himself for playoffs...in Toronto |

Mailbag questions:
1. Do you think any of our prospects, showcased or not, sign with us in 2019 after World Juniors or the hockey season? I know we're in a tough contract limit situation, so that would necessitate moves as well.
2. You said Seabs was on the move, has the conversation switched to Keith? Is it both? What teams are involved in the talk(s)?
3. I'm positive we'll be sellers by the deadline, so who goes and who gets demoted/bought-out?
4. When we start selling off players, core or not, who should get called-up from Rock first? Faces we've already seen, or give new guys a chance? |

Maybe JC likes Nilsson/Sikur together. Rolling 4 lines. |

Mailbag questions:
1) With the volume of D-prospects that we have, do you think TDL moves will concentrate on forward/goalie moves, or is it still simply best available?
2) The Hawks seem to be very heavy on prospects right now and light on actual NHL talent. Do you see them moving further in this direction, or moving some of the prospects for more established talent to try and turn things around quicker with Toews/Kane still on the team? |

I could see that. Maybe Colliton also saw something in Perlini's last couple of games that makes him think his offense is starting to gear up. |

3rd line has a lot of speed.
Wondering if Keith can fetch Grundstrom from the Marlies? |

Looks good but I would have Martenson on the 4th in place of Sikura. |

And all over Twitter Delia has the net tonight. Agree with Justin and those who say give the net to Delia for an extended period and see what he can do. ......... Can't say enough how he passed the eye test @COL with his efficiency of movement and puck tracking.

I want to see Perlini showing better finish because I do like his skills which suit today's NHL. He has had a bit of hard luck around the net which, if different, would have been a big confidence builder for him.
This would make it easier for me to stomach that Schmaltz trade. |

To my eye Perlini is playing much freer, not thinking as much just playing. Makes sense as he's acclimating himself but this guy has the tools/skills/size to a a L3 difference maker. A multi tool guy with speed, shot, size, strength, ability to play physical. ..... For me I have to see more as far as IQ which usually for me means average at best.

Good questions Chunky, especially #2. As far as at the TDL I doubt they come away with a difference making NHL roster player for prospects but we'll see over the summer. ...... As far as need my guess is they will look for a top 6 forward as opposed to a Dman.

I think he's got it. He scored 14 two years ago and 17 last year, shooting 15.2 and 13.2% respectively. He's around 7% this year. I think now that he is starting to get more used to the overall game that Colliton wants him to play, his offensive instincts will take over a bit more.
The goal he scored (non-empty netter) showed that he will work hard and go to the net. I'm happy to see more of that on the team, and I'm sure the team is as well.

Thanks Rico. I'm thinking the same. I'm just wondering if they might get some internal pressure from the core guys since they aren't all that competitive as constructed.
I'm not advocating at all for more AHL'ers here, but in seeing what Dahlstrom has done, I'm wondering if guys like Raddysh, Hillman, etc would be more productive under Colliton than they would have been under Q. |
