Karlsson was pissed Wagner gave him a little shove and decides to take a run at him. He absolutely deserved the suspension.

Karlsson had no reason to make a B line toward the middle of the ice and hit wagner up high. He absolutely knew what he was doing and deserved a 5 and ejection (which didn’t happen)

The Department of Perpetual Stupidity is woefully inconsistent. Karlsson definitely deserves two games, but there have been a plethora or headshots and dirty plays that they've not punished. The officials and the DoPS are bush league at the best of times. Truly and wholly pathetic.

I thought the PE Bellemare hit on Clifford was worse. Not sure how they deemed this one worthy of supplemental discipline but let Bellemare off the hook for that one.

That being said, two games seems reasonable.

Karlsson had enough of an opportunity to get Wagner through the body. It's his own fault for getting so much of Wagner's head on the hit. Two games for a guy with a clean record makes sense

Like the Cogliano suspension, this too is unwarranted.....DoPS is way too inconsistent in how it handles its responsibilities

I didn't think this hit was that bad. If the DOPS think it was a 2 game suspension, fine.
But it is so inconsistent. Couple games back, Troy Stecher gets hits in the head, Martel chicken wings him throwing out the elbow. Way dirtier play by a career AHLer. End result? Stecher out with a concussion. Martel, 2 min penalty. Nothing else. DOPS didn't even look at it. No fine, Nothing. Don't understand this league sometimes. Baertschi same thing. Has been out with a concussion from a head shot since Oct 24. Not even a penalty on the play. DOPS doesnt even look at it

I don’t know he should not have had his head down. I hate how people think some of these hits can be avoided. On the ice that play happens a lot faster than the slow mo replays and you have skates and momentum against you.

Karlsson should have been suspended for his action at the end of the Ottawa game, when he shot the puck in the direction of the ref.

Helluva hit. The kid should’ve kept his head up & was bent over.

Whoever’s saying he had time to avoid hitting a specific spot is high....that was a bang-bang play & EK got there as the puck hit Wagenr’s stick...

Shoulder on high shoulder/jaw. One game max.

...& the kings fans...really? with the pointing fingers when karma comes back to bite your team every now & then for Dustin Brown’s past transgressions (& usually not suspended for)...

Merry Christmas! Peace & Love, Peace & Love!

Dustin Brown doesn't do head shots. The one time he chicken winged someone in the face, he did get a suspension.

I don't think the Karlsson hit was malicious but he made a poor decision to throw that check and he ended up getting Wagner in the head. Two games for a head shot is reasonable.

You’re right...Dustin Brown only blows out others’ knees....

Initial point of contact was the shoulder...
& for a guy with no history, it was excessive punishment.

Just put bras on them.. make them give each other hugs, just like the NFL.

What a joke. I'm gonna make the NHL by skating with my head down and being an idiot.. can't wait.

It wasn’t a bang bang play. Typical delusional SJ fan. Lol

He made a B line for wagner. He knew what he did. Deserved the suspension. Now go cry elsewhere

He makes a play on the puck and then collides.
Should not be a suspension.

You're clearly biased as a Kings fan
That to me looks like a clean hit with no intention to go high into the head.
I have no bias here, in fact I'd prefer Karlsson to be out as a Flames fan, but honestly, main point of contact looks like shoulder

Ah yes... Kings67... the guy who has an opinion on literally everything...

Prey tell. What is a typical SJ fan? Because I see the typical Kings fans such as yourself as being a self proclaimed expert in everything when it comes to anything SJ Sharks.

That about accurate? Spot on I’d say given your specific history of replies in Sharks threads around here...

I ain’t crying, little one....& Enjoy not rooting for your team in the playoffs this year.

If you understand the rule as it stands it’s an illegal hit. Initial point of contact was the shoulder with the main point of contact the head.
Two games is warranted.
