I love when people act like professional athletes need to dedicate themselves to their sport literally 24/7.

I remember when Kessel went fishing and tweeted a picture of him doing it the night after the Leafs lost in the playoffs one year and people lost their (frank)ing minds. Like he was supposed to lock himself in a dark bedroom and cry for a month before he was allowed to enjoy himself again.

My first interpretation of that is that the Knicks do not backcheck or play defense rather than a slight against Hayes

it just makes no sense unless he's just trying to be negative

we have two young offensive minded right handed defensemen who absolutely cannot get out of their own way in their own zone in Pionk and DeAngelo, ultimately Hajek may be a great partner on the left side for either one of them

and then you add young guys like Gilmour and Day to the mix, they can't play defense

so we are going to look at Hajek as a failure already because he hasn't put up points yet?

Nobody said that he looks like a failure. You're overreacting to try and build your case.

It's safe to be concerned about his numbers when you consider his role. He's on the PP, he sees a decent amount of TOI and I think he starts out in the OZ quite frequently.
