7/73 on the PP?
Good God. I knew it was bad. I didn't realize it was THAT bad. They need to throw away the PP and go back to the drawing board and start at square one. The league obviously has them figured out at this point. |

Teams should be allowed to decline penalties. |

I'd like to try:
Raffl - Giroux - Voracek
Laughton - Couturier - Weise
Lindblom - NoPa - Konecny
JVR - Varone - Simmonds
Not a huge fan of Weise up there but I really would like to see the kids on line 3 and honestly Weise > Simmonds this season |

I mean we could finish last in the league and lose the lottery. Imagine the worst possible lottery loss. We lost in 2006-07 and ended up with JVR instead of Kane and we all know the talent level is night and day between those 2 |

Regarding Fletcher’s sit down with the media yesterday, something bothered me. I am not looking for the quotes right now, but the vibe was the same old....I like our team, they are a tight group, they have talent but aren’t playing to potential...blah!
It certainly made it sound like trades are no longer imminent. This is a horrible message. Well it is lovely that he has such faith in their abilities after watching last week’s games up close and personal and bonding over free time. Do you?
My faith in this group to turn this around is gone, I wanted trades because I wanted hope. At least plug some roster holes. I don’t even want to discuss feelings on tonight’s lineup or Hart’s debut. I will cheer for Hart though.

Sounded like typical GM speak to me. What did you expect: “we need to move a bunch of these guys out of here asap”?
Trades are coming, but probably not today or tomorrow. It’s difficult to make a good deal from a position of weakness. Fletcher knows this, and Holmgren does too. But trust me, there will be multiple deals before the February deadline and even more moves during the offseason. This team is going to look a lot different by the start of the 19-20 season. |

Yeah I didn't get much from it. i actually felt like he is more to moving some veterans and reshaping the roster compared to picks and prospects.
Also did anyone find it maybe weird or different that players seem to think a new voice will help.
I can't remember players really doing that before. made me think something had to be off between the coach and players. |

I think that's the players trying to deflect some of the blame off themselves, but in a somewhat polite way. |

Nah, the players we've held off trading haven't been injured yet. You know that is coming next. |

Id be willing to bet he is finding that the trade market right now is definitely a seller's market. He said he started working the phones right after he got here....I bet he is finding the same shiite offers Hexy probably got that kept him from doing anything.
Id imagine a possible minor move for a goaltender (with Lyon going back), but the bigger ones being more likely deadline moves unless the Kings/Blues get so desperate to not throw away a season... we make a major deal with either of them. - juiced

Reading Scott Gordon’s Flyers put a smile on my face. A new day boys and girls!
We have officially stopped digging the hole we are in and can begin getting out. |

You do realize nothing is going to change right? The team isnt magically going to play better. If the team does improve it will likely be because of Carter Hart |

The line combo's and D pairings Bill posted are at least a step in the right direction. |
