Up front Johan Larsson and Zemgus Girgensons anchor the forwards while Evan Rodrigues and Vladimir Sobotka form the second pair. Head coach Phil Housley and assistant coach Steve Smith seem to be working Eichel in as a fifth penalty kill forward as well.

Good idea to get Eichel involved. Erod and Eichel could be a short handed threat. No team is going to succeed or fail based on shorthanded goals, but the Sabres have 0. I still can't believe AZ is a +3 on the PK. 11 SH goals for, and 8 PP goals against. It would be nice to have a taste of that

they've used him during the dying seconds lately and last night he was out there when e-rod was in the box...if I remember correctly, Bylsma used Eichel and kane on the pk during preseason and they were threatening, might have even scored a couple of shorties...however, he didn't really follow through with that in the regular season

I thought your “We all know the names” approach was a classy move well done.

They should terminate Berglund for the haircut alone.

Did Skinner get hurt?
I didn’t notice him out there at all in OT
or the shootout

He may not have a choice to play here if he wants to play.

Him and Nylander may be trade bait along with a couple others from what I was told.

Do we know what the Sabres options are here?

Obviously we suspended him,
but can we actually terminate the contract?
I doubt anyone would actually trade for that contract,
so maybe a mutual termination is the best thing for both sides

I just hope we don’t make any moves unless it’s for a player we plan on keeping

Trading Guhle, Nylander, any of our 1sts, or any other good assets for a “rental” would be a mistake imo

Interesting from Friedman

He stated that Berglund had a full no-trade clause that expired on June 30th and it switched to a modified no-trade clause. Berglund apparently did not get his updated list into the Blues in time and the trade was able to go through. He says both sides are looking for a solution to the situation.

Skinner is the focus now, won't see much until that is taken care of. End of January or so we should see more.

Ok, thanks for the info
I know ppl are suggesting we just terminate the contract
I wasn’t sure if the CBA actually allowed us to do that though?

Yes but he hasn't been a " teammate" about this situation. His complaining in and out of the locker room has become a distraction, he's not hurt i'll tell you that. He never wanted to be traded in the first place and didn't want to come here.

That makes sense
Skinner should definitely be priority #1

That I don't know, didn't get much info on this situation except what I posted yesterday. We don't need any distractions which is why he was "hurt" and suspended.

Standard player contract requires the player to give “best efforts” to the Club, and allows the Club to terminate for a “material breach”.

I’m sure the Sabres would prefer to work out a deal both sides can live with rather than risk an arbitrators decision that missing a few games and practices over a multi-year contract(actually sick or otherwise) isn’t a “material breach”.

IMO, may have to move a piece in order to move him to another team due to his contract.
