Why are the Blues so bad? On paper they look competitive. Bad mix of players? |

They found ways to lose points and games early in the season, losing multi goal leads in the 3rd period, giving up late goals to lose before overtime, etc. They could very easily, maybe should have 7 more points which would put them effectively in the playoffs because of their games in hand.
This was from late october

Blues are becoming like the Flyers with their constant goaltending issues. |

Is it getting hot in here?!... I feel like the heats gone way up in the last hour or so. The Flames are so hot. Can someone open a window please?!
Bad joking aside, yeah you guys still look really good on paper. I know your missing Pete and a few other more minor players, butt this game should be good!
It’s sounding more and more like Smitty’s starting so I’m very concerned on our end there. He’s so hot and cold he’s almost an older version of Jake Allen. Like a box of chocolates, you never know what your going to get..
I expect a low scoring, defensive type game from both teams. Butt it is a good day for hockey!!
Go Flames Go!!! |

Pretty clear at this point that Ryan O'Reilly automatically makes your team bad. |

I was thinking the same thing the other day
Hell of a player, and no signs of being a bad locker room guy.
Just purely a bad luck guy. |

I guess when the Flames were sucking I should have posted cheap shots on their team blog because nothing screams class like kicking guys when they're down.
Still think a Tarasrnko for either Tkachuck kid's draft pick is looking more and more like a good bet, plus we would have gotten more.
Hell, I would straight up trade him for either one because hockey's a team sport and Tarasenko's an individual. Oh but he creates great passes instead of shooting, which does not make him a team player. But every ten or fifteen games he places defense a couple of games in a row and that shot. And, and, the same tired cut back moves. NHL game changes, talent is great, but adapty talent to the changes makes a player elite, see ROR vs Tarsenko. |

We got kicked a lot. Not so much by the Blues fan base. Luckily the trolls have been silent this year.
Anyways, besides goaltending not sure what the Blues problems are or how to fix them. But wish you the best of luck turinging it around. |

I still disagree with all the comments about trading Tarasenko. A good coaching group can take high ceiling players and push them past the plateaus they often hit. When a team is a contender on paper but fails to meet expectations, that's almost always a coaching/management/leadership issue. Several of our high end players have bottomed out. Young, highly skilled players don't all suddenly regress at the same time without an external issue. These players need to be held accountable by a coach that has the talent to push their progress. If they trade Tarasenko, I think we see how good he is on a team that works together. |

I was thinking:
Blues 1st and Berglund for Schwartz
Sabres throw in Elie or something to make the money work. |

$11m in salary for $3.8?
Doesn't make any sense. Ya'll need that pick back. I'm sure we can work something out
I can offer Berglund, Okposo and St Louis 1st for Steen and Schwartz |

Its really only $2 Million as Bo is a FA at years end
so Bo Steen and a 6th round pick for Bergy and if Bo resigns with Buffalo the blues keep their pick and get BUffalo's 6th |

Steen has 2 more years at $5.5
Pass. Anyway, I think the Sabres are going to try to void Berglund's contract. Idk if it's going to work, but i don't think they want to do him any favors. He should have just shown up for a year and played well to try to get a trade at the end of the year |

No idea. He started the year as a 2nd line center and did not perform too well. He was switched to wing and said he was more comfortable on the wing anyway. He was reduced to a 12 minute role, but still had time on PP2. Then he was a healthy scratch which apparently set him off. Somehow the Sabres found out he was partying while calling in "sick." |
