If Chucky can turn Neal's season around he will get an even bigger pay bump. |

I’m not really worried so much about getting Neal going as I am our goalie situation. I have a ton of confidence in Ridder becoming a good goalie, butt if he has any hiccups or gets injured there is nothing good behind him. Smith looked slow and injured from the start vs Philly. Gillies got called up, sporting a 3.96 goals against average and .861 save percentage. In the A.
I’m flying my flag behind Rittich for the foreseeable future. I want Neal to get going, but he can keep coasting for all I care as long as Rittich is healthy.. |

8x8 seems a dream now, butt BT is top notch at extensions. I have full faith in him. And Chucky doesn’t seem like a greedy bastard to me, off the ice anyways. So, in Brad we trust!

I would think Chucky gets something similar to what Nylander signed for or something like a 6 year in the 7 million range. |

6 no. 7 I’m wishing!! Nope 7.5x8 would be a miracle. Too many stupid GM’s giving out bad contracts for his agent not to go all in.. |

"I honestly have no idea how Smith has continued to start a larger share of the games."
That right there is why you should stop blogging about the NHL or at least focus on a team you actually watch. You honestly have no idea? It's extremely straightforward and blatantly obvious. Smith won six games in a row after Rittich lost 2 games in a row. Smith was also playing great and allowed 2 or fewer goals in his last 5 starts before the Flyers game. How can you possibly have a problem with them giving Smith the starts, especially after they did the same thing with Rittich just before Smith's stretch.
It's going to take more than 10 solid starts to become the coach's undisputed number one. I don't care who the coach is. |

Flames will be lucky to get Tkachuk signed for less than the Eichel contract, especially with the incoming Seattle salary cap bump. |

Chucky has 37 points in 32 games and Draisatl has 39 points in 32 games so I guess pretty much the bar has been set pay wise. So I guess anything in the 7 range is a steal. |

Hunk you are a moron, Chucky isn't going to get 10 million a year. BTW I hope you like the money Alberta is still giving you! |

If you're an agent, it's not too difficult to make the argument that Tkachuk is as or more valuable than Draisaitl or Eichel. Unless his productions falls off a cliff, he's going to be signing his contract coming off a better statistical year than either of them and hasn't been fed top line minutes with top line players to get those numbers.

If Calgary wants to get Neal going, then send him back to Vegas. He looks totally lost in Calgary. |

You’ve said this about almost every player we’ve signed...”be lucky to get him for this, be lucky to sign him for that” BT has proved you wrong numerous times. |

He's going to blow through the Gio/Gaudreau cap though. That's what i'm worried about, how will Gaudreau feel about being paid millions less than Tkachuk. I always thought trying to save on the top end talent is a mistake. |

Every GM that's not on a budget team pays their star players like star players. As a fan, it's nice to see Treliving keep the numbers fairly low, but don't think the players and agents don't notice that pretty much all the Flames' stars were underpaid basically by the year after they signed their extensions.
Who knows how important money is to Tkachuk, but Papa Tkachuk sure liked getting paid. It's not unreasonable for him to push for 10 million a year if they want to lock him up for 8 years. He's already arguably the Flames best player. He's the forward version of Giordano. He excels everywhere. |

Gio is the defence whisper, he makes all his partners better. If Tkachuk can do that then stick Neal with him for an extended time. |

Except they might be saying the same about Gio. Maybe Gio and Dumba should drop em and settle things. |
